GI Article Questions

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 11:35 am

Ok, lets start with the fact that I've finally gotten around to reading the big, massive, overly-large-yet-not-large-enough article in the latest game informer. Regarding the latest entry in the Elder Scrolls series, I have a few questions that I don't think where answered anywhere in the article. This being said, its now 1:05 in the AM for me, so I may have missed a few things. Naturally, I think somewhere there is a thread discussing the article itself. I'm hoping that someone may have heard from other sources regarding a few topics.

Granted, my ability to read between the lines is quite thin, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Also, the search engine didn't give too much, but I may have been phrasing things wrong. I'm sorry if I missed any of this in other threads. :(

1. Most important to me, has anyone, anywhere, mentioned specifically the issue of monsters leveling with the PC. Like in Oblivion. I sincerely hope this is not the case. The article made it sound like enemies did NOT level with the player, but it was never specified.

2. Guilds. Any word on this? I saw the things that Bethesda is borrowing from the Gothic series (and wherever they may have got it from.) regarding cooking, crafting, etc. This sounded less like Fable jobs to me, and more like the german fantasy titles, where its more of a 'for fun and relaxation with a few benefits' my sister seems to think its more like Fable, and you earn money for doing small time jobs. This may be two questions, I'm not sure.

Well, thats about it. I'm REALLY excited about V, since I LOVE Conan style dark fantasy. This, plus the more organic combat, sprinting, and menu system has me really excited. Is it November yet?

There are many topics on level scaling, here is a quick one: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1161011-level-scaling/

Nothing has really been mentioned about the guilds yet.

Gstaff said leveling-scaling would be similar to Fallout 3.

Actually, Todd did mention the storylines in their main quest and factions. So it does look like "guilds" are in, just with a more appropriate name.

It's on page 53 of the GI article, under the "Radiant Story" section.

You can find all the information we know atm about the game http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1158506-skyrim-information-compilation. That should answer any questions you have except the guilds question. If you have anymore questions after reading the explanations just leave a post. If you don't have any questions just leave a post if you found it helpful or not and what you would think would need to be added to it. It needs a bump hehe.

They were called factions in the other games too.

Huh, I guess they were.

Regardless, factions are pretty much confirmed.

Awesome! Thanks again for the confirmations. Guess I jumped the gun and missed some of the info.

*EDIT* Also, that is an excellent thread, not sure how I overlooked it.
