3 Articles on BRINK

Just in case anyone hasn't seen them yet; here are 3 new articles as of yesterday and the 18th that were posted on brinkthegame.com.

The IGN Hands On was fairly uninteresting, only restating what has been said before about the game; except for what I think is an exclusive screen shot of a silenced bolt-action rifle. Oliver revealed some details on the game I haven't heard of before (don't know if they have been spoken of before); these include:

"So the way the mission system is done is that every time someone takes a mission, it updates the objective wheel, so it pushes you to help people already doing something. You will get XP for protecting, and it all helps everyone have a better game experience."

"Brink is not a one shot game. There is continuity and we will feed the player new content for sure."

"And as you progress as a Medic you have new abilities like boosting their metabolism or their strength or their speed."

So from this we know Brink will definitely, 100% have DLC and post-launch patches. I'm just praying that they follow in the footsteps of Valve and TF2, with free updates adding new elements to the game. This is very unlikely, but a man can dream.

The last quote also interests me; I thought Medic's could only heal and revive, but they can boost player's strength and speed as well! Interesting. Oliver Leonardi (Art Director) also mentioned the fact that he noticed Medic seemed to be the most popular class. I guess we'll just wait and see. Other than that he just talks more in-depth about Brink's art direction and narrative.

Anyway, what do you guys think of these articles? Did you catch anything new that I didn't? Discuss.

The fact that people are already noticeably leaning towards the Medic class considering the comparatively few amount of people that have actually played the game is kind of worrying me. We all know too many games with too many Medics and none of them playing as such.

In other games, the Medic usually has the heavy weapons, such as LMGs.
If people want to play with LMGs, they have to play medics.

In BRINK, however, every class can use every weapon. And a medic is only successful (as in: getting XP) when playing for and with the team.

Yeah I don't get that. Realistically wouldn't a medic want a Submachine Gun to make it to his allies faster, and an engineer want an LMG to defend better.

In Reality, a medic would have either an Assault Rifle or SMG, but a Engineer would as well.

Soldiers and (sometimes) Radio Operators are the people who get the big guns, afaik.
