Artifacts in Skyrim

Post » Thu Dec 16, 2010 1:12 pm

In the past games artifacts have been coming and going. So I'm wondering which you want? Personally I want all the artifacts mentioned in the Tamriel Lore book( http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Tamrielic_Lore ), But make them harder to get than in OB, please.
What do you think?

Yeah I would love to see more artifacts in Skyrim however I would like to see the method of obtaining them improve. Instead of just being quest rewards like they were in Oblivion it would be nice to see certain artifacts hidden in certain dungeons for the inquisitive treasure hunter to find with clues hidden around the world in certain books and whatnot that hint at their location, perhaps the collector in Winterhold has just added a powerful Daedric weapon to his collection or perhaps you stumble upon a puzzle box that holds the key to finding a powerful set of armour.

I would be very surprised if they don't have artifacts in the game. They've been in every Elder Scrolls since Arena.

That said, I too would love to see the difficulty in acquiring one be very very elevated from what it was in Oblivion and even Morrowind. These items should be extremely powerful payoffs for harsh quests/monsters/treasure hunting. For example, maybe Chrysamere should be in a treasure pile guarded by three dragons who attack simultaneously. This should be a battle very few players are capable of beating without lots of planning, and luck. When a player acquires one of these, that player should feel like he's done something not many others have. This would add an element of reverence to the artifact that it should have.

I would also love to see new additions to the artifact list. A nordic axe once belonging to Ysgramor or something.

Artifacts should be really hard to get, most of them not directly quest related but found using hints found in books and other references.
Some artifacts should not have any clues at all, and should be stumbled upon by coincidence.

This should also be the case with the most rare armor sets, like the daedric armor in Morrowind.

I'd like to see a lot of them, but not all. It doesn't make sense for them all to have made their way to Skyrim at that moment in time. I'd also like to see a lot of Skyrim-specific artefacts.

I'd like ot see a few of the rarer ones that havent been in every game make a return.

Also, make it so they arent all quest related rewards.....just a random one in a really tough dungeon (maybe a buriel tomb with treasure) would be good.

This.

As for what artifacts I want to see return: Merhunes Razor, The Savior's Hide, Daedric Crescent Blade, Masque of Clavicus Vile, The Mentor's Ring, and many more.

I would be surprised if the Fists of Randagulf did not return as they have some significance in Skyrim

Randagulf of Clan Begalin goes down in Tamrielic history as one of the mightiest warriors from Skyrim. He was known for his courage and ferocity in battle and was a factor in many battles. He finally met his fate when King Harald conquered Skyrim. King Harald respected this great hero and took Randagulf's gauntlets for his own. After King Harald died, the gauntlets disappeared. The King claimed that the Fists granted the bearer added strength.
