Artifacts will they return?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:00 pm

I played morrowind and oblivion and I liked morrowind more for many reasons one was the amount of artifacts vs oblivion. i was wondering whether any of the old ones would make a return Like...Dragonbone cuirass, Ice blade of the Monarch, skull Crusher, Staff of Hasedoki, Staff of Magnus, Volendrung, Auriel's Bow, Bow of Shadows, Chrysamere, Daedric Crescent, Fang of Haynekhtnamet, Spear of Bitter Mercy(would be cool to see it come back).

other armors...Ebony Mail, Lord's Mail, Fists of Randagulf (come on there practicaly well literally made in Skyrim), Auriel's Shield, Eleidon's Ward, Spell Breaker.

i missed having a ton of varying and usful artifacts in oblivion and I think after 200 plus years the chances of these artifacts and others(rings, amulets, stuff I missed) should probably come up as lost from museum and possibly found there way to skyrim obviously certain things are deadra specific but many more are not and those have been missed and are also some of the better ones...*cough* dragonbone 100% fire resistance lol...*cough*
I mean who here misses having alot more unique items that are definatively better than your typical loot?

Well I am and I wanna see a comeback of tons of Artifacts ok thats my 2 cents.

I didnt forget any I just was either to lazy to put all of them in the post or i knew they are the kind the should automatically be in there lol. I miss old stuff and i've only played those 2 consloe elder scrolls games there are alot more from other games lol that I was to young to know about lol. Ah I miss morrowind it just seemed to have more of everything versus oblivion which seemed to be lacking on the finer details that and some of the best artifacts from mages guild get taken from you its sorta dumbed down. ah well sadface.

probably Chillrend as i have good memory of it in Oblivion.

hopefully this time there no quest that make us sacrifice a unique artifact like the main quest of oblivion that had to sacrifice a daedric artifact.

I don't mind sacrificing a single artifact, especially if there are tons. Odds are a given build can't use EVERY artifact.

I'd like to see them, although I don't want to see unique stuff replace all "normal" loot.

I hope they are exceedingly difficult to acquire, each and every one of them. I want to really struggle for my artifact, damnit!

Oh my...

On one hand,I want to have new artifacts and leave the old ones to my character from previous games,on the other hand I don't want to kiss them goodbye.

Hard question,I'm really not sure which I prefer =P

I share the divided thoughts of Comberry.

As much as I love them, I feel their appearance in every game really starts stretching their mystique thin.

Fortunately, there's 200 years between the last TES game and the new one, so they can still all resurface.

I hope the Ring of Rahjiin comes back.

What would be really nice is if the game allows your character to find a certain number of artifacts (And quests to find them never say which one it is), but still leaves some sort of way to determine what Artifact it is, with the implementation of Radiant World. And artifacts found should increase the chances of the next one being related, such as The Spear of Bitter Mercy or Cuirass of Savior's Hide, and The newly-implemented Arms and Armor of the Nine.

After you find an artifact, the game should also have a chance of implementing rumors about another artifact or two, preferably one least significant to your character, redundant with another one, or with opposed affiliation to your current artifact's affiliations. So finding Chrysamere might remove Umbra or Goldbrand. being discovered by an adventurer in another province. So, the more artifacts you find, the harder it is to find new ones, and the world develops more as you hear about other heros of their own stories.

I would like artifacts, but if they are in, I would really like a new artifact book.
It took me a while to realise that I could find all the artifacts I read about in the book I "borrowed" from the last dwarf but boy did I have fun searching every inch of Vvardenfell for them. The dragonbone cuirass was the last one and that took a while. :)

Im sure Divayth Fyr survived. A 4k year old uber cool wizard v. a volcano? I wouldnt be surprised if he simple levitated his home to safety. A whole island complete with Telvanni tower floating about mainland Tamriel and he could very well sail it to Skyrim to study the dwemer.

So what Im really hoping for is 'artifacts of Skyrim, by Divayth Fyr'.

I want Chrysamere and Eleidon's Ward, the end ;)

But all the other artifacts would be amazing too :D

In any case, many of the artifacts should be completely unrelated to quests. In Oblivion, all artifacts were related to quests. It svcked.

I want to go into a dungeon far off, in some forgotten and hidden place, and find one of these artifacts. Either really well hidden or really well defended. Only a few artifacts should be quest related :)

Don't worry. In Skyrim, the quests will be integrated into the world, so it would make sense to find quests for Artifacts like in Arena.

Daggerfall used Oblivion's system for finding Artifacts... and that's less fun than Arena's quest system.

Good weapon i've picked up a few times in different games. Jabberwocky would also be a cool artifact to see. Another cool thing might be more collectable trinkets like in TES 2 DAGGERFALL where one would find things like nymph hair, saints hair, picture icons (of the deceased?) in dungeons etc that could be sold in pawn shops.

I dont want THOUSANDS even though you are exaggerating. I just want the best of the artifacts to cater to the different ways people can play. I want some ultimate Sneaking boots, a Robe that makes your mage twice (or more) as powerful (i.e. mantle of woe). A Shield that disintegrates weapons that hit it and/or absorbs spells casts at it (that one would probably need a disadvantage too).

I dont want a whole bunch of artifacts that are just slightly better than an item you can enchant yourself. In oblivion i didnt even wear/use any artifacts besides the umbra sword, because they were't very interesting.
