I hope this letter finds you. I’m so far from home, you wouldn’t believe how much I miss High Rock! There is much in this letter you will not believe.
Things have taken a turn for the worst in my great plan to travel the northern parts in search for new opportunities. We travelled for a while, going from city to city, doing our show when folks wanted some entertainment. Children and advlts alike were, usually, very happy to see us arrive and the show was very well received. Even the knife throwing act and the Giant’s prowess. The clown usually got some good laughs and people were amazed at what the tamer could make the wolves do.
I took the name Arturo il Magnifico. I felt it fit well with the character I played in the show. The lessons in illusion and alteration we learned as kids were paying off. It’s fun to make people think they are seeing a rabbit come out of a hat when all it is is a white handkerchief...
We had decided to go into Skyrim. We were all excited to see new cities, meet new people and make money from selling our potions and enchanted items. Enchanter was working day and night.
At the border we came upon a group of imperial soldiers. I’m not sure what happen, it happened so fast. They killed everyone!!! A massacre. Killed the animals too. Pilled everyone in the caravans and burned everything. Including the horses. I get sick every time I think about it. My poor friends. It’s no way to die...
I’m not sure why they kept me alive. They made me prisoner, put me in a carriage with others and I quickly figured out that we were going to be executed. I remember not caring. Not listening...
Then, I’m pretty sure I saw a dragon. I mean, I never saw a dragon before but I guess this is what a dragon would look like. And people were shouting “dragon, dragon” altough I’m not sure how they would know what a dragon looks like. Anyway, during the dragon’s attack, one of the prisoner helped me escape. I tried to help as best I could but what could I do? I’m not a fighter... I’m just a freak show magician.
I followed this stranger to his town. His sister offered me some food and a room. They are very nice.
I have no money, no job... I lost all my books... I have nothing. I picked up a couple of things from the Imperials. I might try to sell them tomorrow. I hear there is a trader on the main street...
I will try to write soon. I’m not even sure this letter will get to you. If it does, please, I need help...
Arturo.
