Ash and Goo Piles not dissapearing.

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 12:54 am

i love energy weapons especcially a fully modified laser rifle minus the beam splitter but every time i use an energy weapon be it plasma or laser and i get a critical finish which results in an opponent turning into a goo or ash pile i have noticed these piles do not disappear. is there any way i may fix this or is the mojave wasteland doomed to be covered in ash and goo piles eventually?

Doomed, unfortunately.

On computer you can use a mod that makes the piles disappear on cell reset the way corpses do. Not what you want to hear, it's just sad that it's actually a really easy change that the developers neglected. You just need a script attached to the piles with an OnReset block of Disable and MarkForDelete.

damn you obsidian.

Least you got the company right :P

Try looting everything from the corpse and leaving the grid it is in for several days.
I'm saying thise because If you take everything from a normal corpse and leave it usually vanishes but leaving even a spork in the inventory will make it stay forever.
Hopefully this works for you because I don't seems to get permanent ash piles on my playthrough.

You don't need to loot bodies for them to vanish with a cell reset. Only non-respawning NPCs leave permanent corpses, and stripping them doesn't affect if their corpse vanishes (Cook Cook is a good example of a corpse that'll never go away). Ash and goo piles simply never vanish.
