[REQ] Ash Creature Dialogue Expanded

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 9:56 am

I'd really liked the way the devs added dialogues to ash creatures, but it lacks variety. And they repeat those even after I kill Dagoth Ur.

I could do it my own but i really really svck at creative writing. I can think for whole day and may come up with an idea but it evaporates when I sit to write it.

So I ask most humbly if anyone is interested in expanding dialogue for Ash Creatures.

I think I can handle that. How many lines per minion are you looking for?

I'd be interested in doing this, but I have no experience in the Construction Set. Doesn't seem too hard, but I'd gladly write any dialogue you'd be looking for.

Sorry for the late reply.

Its an interesting mod which adds dialogue to almost all the Dagoths and new greetings but I was looking for different dialogue after defeating Dagoth Ur.

I've made a personal mod which passifies all ash creatures after Dagoth Ur is dead. But in doing so, if I tak to any dagoths, they talk as though Dagoth Ur is still alive.

Interestingly, there's a few unused dialogue entries (and even some unique voiced stuff) for sixth house characters which can be found in the construction set. I get the feeling the developers originally intended to have a wider variety of ash creatures, as the dev comments in these unused dialogue entries attribute them to creatures that don't exist ("ash wights", "ash sorcerers", etc). There's also some unique dialogue for the various named ash vampires, but I'm not sure if that shows up in game or not... never bothered to try and calm them and chat or whatever.

Those new ash creatures that are mentioned interest me very much. I'll be looking into them. How do you know they're attributed to those creatures if they don't exist though?

They're assigned to "dialog placeholder", an npc which does basically what the name says, but in the dialogue comments (that is, stuff preceded by a semicolon in the results box) it's noted that the dialogue is intended for those creatures. There's not a ton of it, I just thought it was a neat little curiosity. You can see it in the Greeting 1 tab if you want, but I can't find any other information on what those creatures were intended to be other than the unused dialogue.

Well, I'm always looking for other things to add to Of Ash and Blight, so those ash creatures piqué my curiosity, thanks for the info :)
