[Req?] Ashlander Mods?

Post » Tue Feb 08, 2011 7:11 pm

So, this is what I'm wondering. After checking out a few places, like the big list http://www.mwmythicmods.com/themes.htm, I noticed a lack of mods for playing as an Ashlander. Are there any? In particular, an Ashlander race that actually affects how the natives react to you would be good, but I'd also like to see quests, factions and maybe items. Really, anything to let you play as a non-outlander.

Anybody know of mods for this?

Although I lack the 'knack' for this sort of thing, myself... what you describe does sound to me like something that could be done in a unique way.

For instance, if you were to simply 'clone' the traditional Dunmer race... or rather, if you were to convince a modder that taking the time to individually add all the faces and hairs and crap which would best suit an 'ashlander' Dunmer to an 'identical' race using the name 'Ashland Dunmer'... then go through the process of making 'topics' and 'conversations' which override all the standard ones by looking for your 'race'... which would be entirely unique to you... and therefore would single the player out every time... and skip the standard 'outlander' topics and greetings...

... I think it might be doable.

If nobody has made such a thing doable already.

There's actually probably easier ways which -only- work through editing dialogue... but really... I think the custom race would also give you the opportunity to explore more 'tribal' faces and body textures and all that jazz without applying the body-markings to EVERY Dunmer in the game.

Maybe add in a 'few' new NPC's to use the race... just so you don't stand out so entirely.
