Why Reverse Slash is so much more expensive?

Well AB is magicka, and is more promoting you to play more hybrid from your standard "rogue" character, while Reverse slash lets you embrace you 2H weapon fighter, and will do damage based on your max stamina that is probably really high.

Ok, so I cannot see directly from the skill what is my dmg then.

I can see weapon damage.

I can see skill damage.

I can see stamina, but not how much more dmg it does.

How can I see what is the total damage in the end then?

Don't forget you have to factor in enemy resistance.

I suggest downloading the add on Tactical Combat, and trying out both spells on AI and PvP and see what scales better.

Cloth armor gives magic resist, while Heavy armor will give physical resist.

So AB will hit a Heavy armor level 50 player then RB.

So you are saying that they made a GUI from which you cannot see the total damage?

Rather hard to understand the GUI designer right now.

This UI will show you the damage you deal, in an exact number.

It always boggles my mind why tooltips don't give you as much information as possible. Whats with the dumbing down?

Then again, thats what mods are for.

Well I mean this solution can be changed by adding combat text log, if they didn't want to cluter the UI with floating combat text.

I meant more along the lines of eg Slash 150dmg +23.54(from stamina) +12.43(from weapon damage) being in the tooltip. It doesnt really clutter the ui at all.

I agree, one line of text should not be too much to ask.

...

I tested the skills iin PvE...

AB had a flat damage of 39 and when enemy 25% HP -> 159 == That is more than 4X dmg

RS had a flat damage of 37 and when enemy 25% HP -> 90 == That is around 2.4X dmg

With RS it started to scale earlier, but the damage was rather pathetic until it reached the point where enemy had under 10% left. There you were able to hit higher than 100 dmg, but not even close to 159.

This was tested against light armor, at least the visuals from the mob were robes.

With RS I run easily out of stamina before the enemy was dead, with AB it was dead before my magicka pool was empty. I have invested all attribute points to stamina with this toon.

...

The melee has been far more difficult to play in PvE and PvP. You have to always take tons of dmg, and your dmg seems to be gimped. It is hard to understand this balance, very hard. If a light armor user can even max their armor, this game is far from balanced world. Or maybe I just dont understand the mechanism.

edit. It also seems like that my stamina nor weapon damage had nothing to do with the results. I mean, it seems those are not really affecting to the results at all.

edit2. The weapon damage is already calculated to the skill dmg.

edit3. The stamina is also affecting. Added +7 stamina item and got 1 point more dmg.

So all seems to be calculated to the skill dmg.

Now back to my original question.

Why RS cost more than double vs AB? (And does less dmg as it seems)
