Assassin/Thief Build

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 11:56 pm

Truth be told, I've never made a thief class. :P So I decided it was about time. But I think I'll need a bit of help with my build. Here's my thoughts so far:

Race:
Female Bosmer
Birthsign:
The Thief - The obvious choice.
Specialisation:
Stealth - Well...
Attributes:
Agility - Bow damage.
Speed - Extra speed is highly useful.
Skills:
Blade - My backup and close range weapon will be a dagger or shortsword, but most likely the former.
Illusion - Highly useful for a thief, am I right?
Light Armor - Heavy is too heavy, but I want an armor of some sorts.
Marksman - My primary and ranged weapon will be a bow.
Restoration - I won't be using Alchemy much, so this will be my primary source of healing.

? - Blunt below

You could throw in Mercantile as it might be useful for thieves, and Sneak would definitely be useful. Security is useful at first, but can be ignored. Acrobatics is pretty good for assassins though.

I don't feel like going with Mercantile; I end up with tons of gold anyway. As you said, Sneak would be useful, I'm just worried that will screw up my levelling... I guess I'll go with it anyway. Now, what about the last skill?

I use sneak and conjuration for those last 2 slots. You can consult my character guide in link below as well.

Trust me, I've read that over and over many times. :P It's quite an awesome guide. I like the idea of Conjuration, though. It'd keep the enemy off my back when shooting.

It can be useful, yes. In fact, more useful that Acrobatics but it's a levelling issue then. Conjuration isn't governed by a Attribute that Assassin/thieves usually have..

That's true... However, I have no problem with sliding down the difficulty, if it gets too tough.
