Assassins Creed Unity

So I bought it, even knowing all of the bad stuff about it at launch. It was only 18 dollars on G2A.com can you blame me? I was wondering how Uplay handles patches because I am still noticing some bugs and performance issues that patch 4 supposedly fixed. Does Uplay auto update like steam does or do you have to do it manually? Is there any way I can see if my game is patched or not? For the first 30 minutes of play the game ran perfectly, no lag, no glitches, not even a crash. Once it gets to the point where Arno is thrown in prison it all started to get bad. That cutscene ran like crap, it would freeze up for a few seconds at a time. Once I got past the cutscene it was unplayable lag. Restarting the game helped, but there was still some lag. When I got out of the prison I have no lag, but now I have been playing for a couple hours and the lag is back, constantly. Sometimes it even freezes for like 10 seconds. The game auto detected my hardware and set it at high (which is actually medium because it goes "low, high, ultra"). I have an AMD Radeon HD 6970 2GB, 8GB of RAM, and a Intel i5 quad core 3570 that runs at 3.40 ghz. Is it just that my GPU is too outdated to handle this game on high? I would say the graphics are about the same as Dragon Age Inquisition and that runs 100% perfect with absolutely NO lag on high. Could also have something to do with it likely being optimized for Nvidia hardware, while I use AMD.

On a side note, I will say this installment is absolutely beautiful. If it wasn't for all of the off putting bugs and lag spikes this would be the best AC game thus far IMO. I mean the new combat system is actually pretty fun, and it actually feels like a real sword duel. I also like the way stealth works now, along with enemy detection. The customization is very nice, I find myself not looking at the stats though in favor of aesthetics. The parkour is more fluid than ever before, but it can be a bit glitchy like always. I haven't progressed far enough in the story yet to comment about that but so far I don't mind it. It takes place during one of the most interesting events in history.

I'm playing it on the Xbox. So far, I've spent a good amount of time walking through the city. It was pretty well done. I've only played about 4 hours so can't comment on the gameplay

Ya I am hearing it wasn't too bad on Xbox One, but PC got the shaft with a [censored] port. I wouldn't have minded if they just delayed the PC version to fix what was broken before it came out. There was a time when games released almost bug free. Key word, Almost.
