Assassins from the Legion, issues...

Post » Mon Nov 04, 2013 3:47 pm

So I decided for my second playthrough that I will not side with the Legion and I made the mistake of killing them at Nipton so now I have all these assassins trying to kill me.

I can handle killing them, thats not the problem. The problem is that on the mission "Nothin' But A Hound Dog", the one where you have to go to Jacobstown, I keep getting attacked by the assassins at some point on the road every single time and then I have to kill them and waste a bunch of stimpacks because my armor isnt good enough without healing in between the killing.

Anyone got any suggestions to how I can avoid these assassins ? Like a fast travel & wait combo or something to make them not show up or something.

I could just not go to town and sell their stuff but I like to have as empty of an inventory as possible and if I dont pick up and sell their gear then I wont get the potentially thousands of caps that their stuff is worth.

On the bright side, I'm making huge bank from this because they drop really expensive weapons and decently expensive armor.

Also an unrelated question: why are all of the Super Sledges completely broken ? I could make so much more money if they werent broken.

Leave the dog at the tumbleweed ranch but first and this is important, you need to buy all the wind Brahmin. All of them. You will need them. Take care of the legion, then come back and enjoy the wind Brahmin. :)

You could turn down the difficulty, in settings. The Super Sledges I usually keep somewhere safe until I have decent repair & barter skill, then use repair kits to bring them to full health. If you have a lot of them, cannibalize for repair, as money isn't that hard to come by once you're familiar with the game.

Holy moly! Exact same crap problem I had! I thought I had to bring that stupid dog with me so I had to reload several times until I figured out exactly where the assassin attack spawn point was. Then I had to *set up* the battlefield before triggering the spawn and luring them into a minefield deathtrap that basically crippled them and made it that much easier to take them down. Only advice, once you figure out where the spawn point is, just make sure your [censored] followers are told to wait far far away. Then prep your kill zone. The encounters aren't random in this game, they're triggered by very specific points on the map. BTW, Turbo and any damage resist drugs help out immensely. Also, you can *cheat* aim. If you're out of AP, go into VATS anyway, aim at the head of whoever is closest to you, then pop out of VATS and just start hitting the trigger. Head shots, no pressure. Rinse and repeat until you've killed everyone. Then go back and pick up your Gomer Pyles and continue on your journey.

Thanks, I will use this if it gets way to bad but until then...

I knew saving all my drugs was for a reason! Thanks, I will hopefully remember to use the drugs before going into vats. Also, your follower doesnt acutally die (atleast the dog doesnt at this point in the game), I was fighting the Legion with Rex and ofcourse he "died" but as soon as the fight was over he just simply stood up and I could continue on my journey.
