Assault : Nanosuit vs Normal guys

Post » Wed Jun 22, 2011 7:40 am

I'd like to share my opinion about the assault mode which I strongly feel is unbalanced.

Nanosuit:
advantage:
- Nanosuit (stealth, armor, power)
-Bunny jumping
-High mobility
-Quick melee recovery time
-Quick ledge grab speed
-Perks (some perks are unfair against humans)
-know when enemy is around(proximity alarm).
-Make no noise (covert ops. kinda unfair)
-Can rip off mounted weapon HMG ("nanosuit + HMG" vs humans? enough said rite?)
-Use visor to tag humans(unfair)

disadvantage:
-None

Non-suited soldiers:
disadvantage:
-no bunny jumping
-slow melee recovery time :(
-slow ledge grab speed
-cant rip off mounted weapons (well u can pick up an already ripped off HMG which is dropped. But u cant find it on the ground once a nanosuit guy gets a hold of it rite? )
-No silencers on weapons
-Laser sight gives away your damn position :( totally unfair

advantage:
-None

So basically non-suited guys are too weak compared to the nanosuit guys.
nanosuit easily sneaks up behind u and melees twice = RIP humans.
laser sight the major disadvantage to humans.
can shoot once with an m12 nova silencer + melee once to kill a human and enable stealth and get away. And nanosuit gets visor too? I mean humans are already vulnerable giving away their position with the damn laser sight. and u get to tag them too?

Maybe these changes can balance out:
-Remove laser sight from human weapons FFS
-Give 2 lives for humans
-Increase mobility and melee recovery time for humans
-Ability to rip off HMG for humans or lock it for both
-Remove covert ops.
-Disable visor taggin

I think covert opp should be removed. It reduces footstep noise thus allowing nanosuit guys to sneak and kill.

some tips for normal human marines..... pickup the handgun dropped by a nanosuit u just killed... u can switch to the new handgun now to be free from ur laser sight....

secondly... people with proxy alarms..... give you a 'proxy alarm' as well..... if their sensor picks up an enemy, they will shout out a report like 'i'm definitely getting a reading here' or 'there's definitely someone around here somewhere'..... and normal human marines can hear it too...

Agree with TS Andrey - totaly balanced.

Even with the Scar AND the nanosuit (yes, i use bugs) i dont get that much of an advantage.

The best mode ever :)

kari, i made a post about this before... and it is true the nanosuit team is abit unbalanced... mainly cos they can jump higher and reach certain spots faster... and also they can kick cars... they can also pick up the human's rifles as a tactic to confuse and also to kill...

For human team, to kill alot, you need to train and be skilled at spotting cloaked enemies from far without nanovision...and listen to footsteps... its not easy but it is possible... the best strategy is the first round to immediately attack and kill as many as you can. the less of the nanosuit team left, the better.

my suggestion was to at least give the human team explosive weapons... and to make HMG weapons fixed and unable to be pulled out...

and also for the nanosuit team, they have to face the terminal to upload... if they face away, the uploading stops...

what do you think?

The main imbalance is the HMG... but ignoring that, I always win when I'm defending...

yeah... if you get the hang of it, its actually quite easy to win... but you'll need at least some good teammates and not some level 1 newbies...

as defending team, usually i rush, and when i hear footsteps or the proxy alarm alert, i'll find a corner, stay still and turn around like a turret for those suicide-melee players....

with nanosuit, i like to do funny lures... like upload at a terminal in Parking deck, then wait behind a car for one of those defenders... then i'll do a Beckham kick.

To me the hardest map to play is Liberty Island... you'll need some average or good teammates to win this round as defenders.... its easy for the nanosuit team to spread out and upload altogether at once...

maybe when i'm free i'll do some assault games and upload some videos of my gameplay...
i already uploaded some videos for Crash Site, getting top frags with melee, and some Extraction speed gameplay... if you guys are interested i'll pass you the link

Well it just so happens that there's a HMG right next to one of the terminals ^^

Marines always win, saying that it is unbalanced is just stupid.... The Marines kill the nanosuit guys easy when, the nanosuit guys start to upload!

When you attack you really need a back-up from your team, at least from one person, if you're alone it really svcks, especially when you're coming face to face with two or three defenders once - you get no chance of survival. I mostly spend time playing with strangers who probably don't even know the word co-operate and don't really get the assault type. I remember playing with some fresh morons who as defenders split up through all the pier 17 as it was Instant Action. They died in 20 seconds and I was alone to the 4 attackers who did hell of teamwork, I managed to kill one and that was the end. I am sure assault is well balanced but I would just remove those laser sights and give humans grenades. Nothing more.

Yeah, you need teamwork and skill otherwise your team (or the enemy team) gets absolutely demolished

I'm glad some people agree with me.

@ achi : Yeah, footstep noise is absolutely crucial. And tats why I said covert ops should be removed. Humans are already handicapped against nanosuits. It just gets worse with few perks and the HMG. But I don't think supplying humans with explosives is a good idea. And yes humans need to have sharp eyes and be more aware. Compared to the nanosuit guys who don't need much work. All they have to do is tag enemies with visor and the laser sight makes it hell a lot of easier (directed to those people who say marines are better than nanosuit guys. maybe u guys dunno how to use nanosuit to its full capability and tats probably why u are gettin pwned). Yeah I have seen your videos. They are good. So I have started to play assault and extraction to complete my assessments. But my friends only play TIA and CTR. Maybe we can team up and play sometime if you'd like that.

Marines always win, saying that it is unbalanced is just stupid.... The Marines kill the nanosuit guys easy when, the nanosuit guys start to upload!
Oh, so you just stay put and wait till you get killed by marines when you are uploading? Give me a break.

@ others : well.. I'm not gonna deny or start an argument. Its just my opinion. Maybe u guys play better with humans. For me, nanosuit and melee is just enough. I've taken out an entire human team (8 enemies) all by myself when the rest of the nanosuit guys (7) in my team were dead. And yes team work is the key but humans can easily be flanked and separated..

sure kariwarez, we can team up and i can help you win a lot of extraction and assault games in a row....
problem is i been playing rather late nowadays at about 2am singapore time... ill add you up and see you in extraction/assault servers....

A tip for extraction is that, when ur gonna take the tick... don't kill anyone unless he sees you.... just go in, grab it and take it.... its ok if you die... just bring it to an open place where you can take it again....
Here's an example vid in Liberty Island: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ot-tAP0hgc
I went in cloaked with about 3 or 4 ppl guarding it, and just took it under their noses.

btw i just completed the whole game type assessment just a few days back... and its damn tiring to do..

you can add VesperTepes as well... he's a great teammate and he helped me out alot during my assault games...we've won countless games in a row of assault even when the odds were against us...

I would like to note that the Laser sight gives you some pretty nice accuracy bonuses to aiming down sights AND hip-fire. It enables you to fire accurately from the hip, giving you the necessary mobility to avoid fire for the otherwise unarmoured defending team. Additionally being smart about where you're pointing can help hide the laser, aiming at the corners of walls or further down to the ground will allow you to reduce the range of the laser and therefore the profile of your position.

You have to get the jump on a defending unit to have the best chance of survival, because all they need to do is hip-fire for a split-second and you're down, even in armour mode.
