What do you guys think should be a standard competitive number of players per team. Should it be 5v5 or 8v8 for matches? I think it should be no less than 5v5 format.

8v8 imo

I beleive the maps will have enough tatical and strategical depth for 8 people to take advantage of and not fell cramped (sp?). Although having multiple legues like 8v8, 6v6 etc isnt that far fetched either.

I thought there was a cap to 16 max players per server allowing max teams of 8 players per team for 8v8 format. I would have like 3 heavies, 2 soldiers, 1 medic 1 engineer and 1 light for my 8 man roster.

I think 5v5 matches aesthetically would be interesting because of the small numbers, but the full 8v8 would be a bit more wide open. More players mean more challenge. Trying to hold off 3 engineers from disarming your charge as a soldier would be an epic experience that could only be achieved having the max number of players in the game.

Im just thinking tho if its 8v8 and a team picked alot of engineers there would be to many turrets and mines everywhere, could be a problem maybe 6v6 is better to make it different from a pub, since most pubs probably will be 8v8.

I like bigger fights, but the maps dont really facilitate anything over 8v8 s im happy with just that.

Yeah i think it should be 5v5 or 6v6. Mostly because if you do 5v5 then you have to pick your classes carefully, but if you go 8v8 then you can have multiple of the same class people. 5v5 seems like it could be the most competitive, because if you build your team the wrong way it can end up costing you the match, when 8v8 it would be more about shooting each other since there is alot more people on each map and you are bound to run into each other more times.

I think leagues should open up to either 6v6's or 8v8's and eventually drop which ever doesn't get enough support. But 8v8 would mean you would have to have your entire team of 8 online, instead of 6. If you had a full roster of 10 - 12 people, and you play 6v6 you would most likely always have at LEAST 6 players on to scrimmage. ;) But I'm wondering if you can actually do this, bots might always be put into the game to substitute your missing two players. I don't think it will be a problem for PC gamers but for people who are playing gamebattles on 360 or PS3, it's going to be a bit trickier. :\
We'll see what's up after release.

ANything from 4 vs. 4 to 6 vs. 6 will be the best competitive option.

8 vs. 8 competitions very rarely get enough teams to last long-term. If Brink's doing well enough, there might be room for 8 vs. 8 competitions, but I don't think they'll be successful early on, if at all.
