Assigning items to quick slots

Post » Tue Apr 12, 2011 6:00 am

In FO3, I remember being able to assign weapons or items to numbers, but I can't figure out how to do so in NV. Does anyone know if it's possible.

I'd like to quickly switch between weapons without bringing up the Pipboy over and over.

(Also, if anyone knows, are there water canteens available for people to buy? How many drinks of water do they give you?)

Go to pip boy and press what number you want to assign the item to then click the item 1 then 3-8. Slot two is already used and can not be reassigned as far as I can tell yet.

It is still the same as in Fallout 3. The only difference is that the #2 slot, or up on the dpad (for xbox360) is already used for alternate ammo types. ex; the weapon you have selected, pressing up on the dpad (slot #2) will alternate between your ammo types. that is the only difference.

You can remap the alternate ammo key in game options.

Oh man, I was using number 2 in the first place. Forgot it was the ammo subtype switch (what a bad assignment though! I hope Obsidian changes this to a separate assignable button)

I like being able to go 1,2,3,4 for quick access items, and X to ammo type switching.

Thanks for the info

@Beknatok & Troyniss - Thanks for the info, will try the remap when I get home. Appreciate it.

Thanks Beknatok I totally missed that on the keyboard remap. I need to change that.
