ATI Issues?

Post » Tue Sep 29, 2009 4:41 am

Does there happen to be anyone with an ATI card thats getting issues?

There is no framerate issue when npcs talk or are in view or anything...only when human enemies start shooting. I've had multiple creatures on screen and they aren't bogging me down. I've also noticed some NPC's are choppy when they are running in front of me...this could clearly be a case of the ultra-high settings but I was just wondering if anyone else had some input.

Much appreciated.

I'm running absolutely fine with a Radeon HD 5770 on ultra high quality settings. I get a bit of micro stutter in spots, but it's no big deal.

I haven't played yet but for the micro stutters, try turning on vertical sync. I had this problem with fallout 3, turned on vertical sync and all micro stutters went away. I'm still running my HD 4870 and it ran fallout 3 great.

One more hour at work and I'll be in the Mohave Desert! I am so excited for this game. WooT!

Dual 5850's on an Eyefinity setup here and no issues really. Running on ultra high settings with some tweaks via RadeonPro. My only issues are fixing the minor things that affect the Eyefinity setup.

thank you sir i'll try that option out. i have an HD 5830 so i'm assuming i'm alright on the requirement side...vertical sync sounds like it could help.

I tried running on a HD 5770 and it crashes to desktop after movie intro. Does it with my GTX 280 too. Ultra High on both, but I have tried turning AA and AF off and it didn't do anything.

Yes I have 5770 and I am getting lines in the picture, the longer I play the worse it gets. The lines are like the artifacting that can happen in Arma2. Oh well I've wasted money on worse things.

I have a HD 5870. I still haven't got the game but I heard that if you disable AA and AF in game and then force AA and AF through CCC it noticeably improves performance. I'm definitely gonna try this when I get the game on Friday.

Got a 5770 here, and I had some issues with NPCs causing stuttering (the more present, the worse it got) but the DX9 dll fix worked for me. I never had any issues with framerates slowing with talking though. Also had some micro stutters which the DX fix repaired. Now it runs smoother for me than Fallout 3 ever did, and played it for several hours earlier with no problem. Hope that helped.

Running a 4850 here. Run on Ultra high @ 1680x1050, didn't have problems until I got to Nipton and had my first encounter with the Legion. Now it just randomly crashes out with "FalloutNV.exe has stopped working."

Mobility 5470 here, the game works fine on Medium to High settings except for intermittently crashing back to the desktop when the teleport function is used.
