Yay! And I am finally getting to see some of these by playing too: some people's pictures are just fantastic! Thanks to all the other contributors as well as to you.

Because I've managed to do some playing I am starting to get some new pics as well. :D Assuming I have time to play more there should be a new flow to you again. :)

Funny. Working through the shots is making me want to play Oblivion. ;)

Well, actually found the time to finish everything up tonight. All documentation is updated and all files are uploaded to both TESNexus and 4shared.

I just took a look at the new screens in the Picasa album: you've added some of my favourite Oblivion realm pictures. That definitely makes me happy that you included them. :)

I'm just installing the new version though I probably won't get to play again until tomorrow night. Thanks very much for the update!

Just a notice that another smallish update (20 screens) will be released tonight or tomorrow morning, followed by another very small update (2 screens I think) to the Oblivion Realms theme pack.

Been a bit busy with Fallout 3, but now that I've "finished" most of it and there is still no CS (or even a word about the CS)...back to ALS I go.

Good work. I've been using these since the last Vanilla Oblivion compatible release until I got SI. I think that was around 1.35 or something.

Great to hear that there's another update coming out. Hopefully it'll be out by the time I have time to play tomorrow.

You're going to need to make updates to the ayleid theme pack when you start work on the screens I've sent you recently, I think. :P

Back and downloading (yay for only working mornings on Sunday!).

I won't get to do much more than this today, but I have already spotted one thing that you might like to fix. On TESNexus you have a file listed as "Atmospheric Dark UI Loading Screens 3_50 to 3_50 Update
Use this archive to upgrade directly from version 3.50 to version 3.55."

As updating from 3.50 to 3.50 seems slightly pointless I assume it should be 3.55 in the first line as well as the second. It's still pretty obvious if you stop and think about it, but I think you're better warned the error exists before someone gets confused.

Hah, oops. Fixed now. Thanks.

I really should refrain from doing these updates late at night. ;)

Taking a small break from creating new screens to start experimenting with some backgrounds for new theme packs. Here's what I've come up with so far.

  • http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/ForestTemplate.png (initial base)
  • http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/ForestTemplate2.png (base + light bark)
  • http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/ForestTemplate3.png (base + darkened light bark)
  • http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/ForestTemplatePhoto1.png (light bark, base frame, free non-Oblivion texture, mostly just an experiment)
  • http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/CaveTemplate.png (initial base, might add something darker on bottom)
  • http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/SnowTemplate.png (initial base, snow texture is another free non-Oblivion texture as Oblivion snow textures weren't too good, bottom texture is actually just an inversion of the snow)
  • http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/SnowTemplateFaded.png (faded base, as usual not completely happy with my fading)

I'll only be "completing" one of these themes for now. Still not sure which one, but cave and snow are more likely than forest, simply because it's easier to figure out which screens would fit into those two, there would likely be less of them, and I like what I currently have for those two better than what I have for the forest so far. Whichever other two I don't use now will be left for later.

Anyway, any feedback/suggestions/etc. are welcome.

OK, I think I like the snow and cave templates more than any of the forest templates. Actually, I think I just don't much like the bark texture you're using for the bottom strip in the forest template. Perhaps with a different texture for the bottom I'd like one of the forest options better.

I think the non-faded snow template in this case looks better than the faded one and I think the cave template will need a "dark bar" at the bottom to enable text to be read without eye- strain.

Those are my initial reactions/feedback. Hope it helps!

I don't particularly like it either, actually. I was just trying to stick with a tree texture (which basically just means...bark), and it was one of the only bark textures that was uniform enough to not distract from the text. I'll keep looking of course.

Agree on both of these. I just left the cave as is for now because I couldn't find a suitable texture for the bottom while I was working and wanted to move on.

Those are my initial reactions/feedback. Hope it helps!

Okay, did some more work. Added a http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/CaveTemplateFaded.png to the cave template, and figured out a better method for fading. Went back and tried the same method on the http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Galahaut/Modding%20Scratchpad/SnowTemplateFaded2.png. I've since fixed the little black bar left on the cave frame, but didn't bother reuploading.

I think I'm going to start looking through the screens to determine which screens fit into which now. Depending on the numbers, I may actually try to finish both of these packs. We'll see.

Think I'm heading back to "just one theme pack" after getting initial counts, which were higher than I expected.. Currently stands at 56 for snow and 34 for caves, with some overlap (snowy caves), so I think I'm just going to work on the caves for now.

Well, between one new theme pack or none at all I'll go for one! :D I didn't realise there were so many snow shots... Or so few cave shots; only 34 out of over 1600? I guess it's hard to take really good pics in caves... I don't think I've done that many.

Thanks!

Got lucky and saw one of the screens from the new theme pack as I was loading my game and two more in rapid succession. They look pretty darn good! :)
Well done!

Glad to hear they're looking good in game, as I barely load up Oblivion anymore.
