Attacked by friendly NPC

Okay, Adrianna was doing her thing, wandering the countryside and picking flowers and herbs. Then a bandit archer on the road began shooting arrows at her, so she had to run down to the road in order to persuade him to stop.

While trying to convince him to stop hurting me (okay, I was hurting him back) this NPC who normally lives in the Imperial City appears out of nowhere and engages the bandit, too. Fine, I thought.

But once the bandit decided to lay down for a nap, the NPC began attacking me! I don't know why. He didn't say. I suppose, when I was wildly swinging my club, that I might have hit him. Anyways, we discuss matters iin a frank and honest fashion, much as we had done with the bandit. (although I did use some magic this time.)

Then suddenly he took off running. Whew! I didn't want to convince him too much.

But now I am worried. When I return to the Imperial City, will he be waiting for me to finish our unfriendly exchange? Dealing with him would be bad enough, but he sometimes wanders the city in procession with two companions.

I am not a killer. I don't want to hurt this person or be the indirect cause of his death from the city's gendarmerie. Am I worried unnecessarily? Is it possible he simply won't like me and we can live in peaceful co-existence?

Wait for three days before you go Back to the Imperial City and everything should be fine with him. You might have to pay an assault fine if anyone reported it as an assault.
