Attention to Detail

Post » Tue Sep 13, 2011 9:47 pm

This guy explained very well some of the major skyrim flaws, he did go into many details ,some of them maybe not so neccecary but you cant call him a hater.
Bethesda has some more work to do and it is obvious.

I watched this ages ago, but I still love the fact he is complaining that polygonal models look polygonal, I bet he loves that atom engine that was mentioned awhile ago.

Wow! He does bring up some valid points if you can get through all of it, but if this is how picky we've become then the game will no doubtably be amazing if we are really diving this deep with technicalities.

I really don't understand what you mean now...you say he has some valid points, but what he says is critique, right? So he has complaints, how will the game be no doubtedly amazing then? I don't really understand this...

As for the guy, in his description he says there's no tesselation(no idea what that means tbh) and also no physics, sorry..no physics?

Well first of all, I warrior weighs more than a wolf. I outweigh my large dog by a good thirty pounds. Secondly, if every attack had "realistic" physics, your character would be knocked down WAY too much and you would die. This guy is getting nitpicky over the most minor of details. Sure, a more realistic physics engine would be nice, but then again, combat in oblivion was great. It has been overhauled and uprgraded, but it's still recognizable, which I think is a good thing. And god forbid the CARROT not look perfectly realistic in the item menu. Oh geez. I think that's a gamebreaker. But hey, it's a fictional world. Maybe that's what carrots are SUPPOSED to look like in this world.

I'm just gonna put the video on, and see how long i can watch it until i have enough. I mean there's already enough complaints on this from every single day as it is. I'll just go see if he really has valid points.

can someone link me to the Morrowind vid witht his guy...I can't stop laughing even though he does point out some great things.

I think with the impact/animations Bethesda avoided having the player constantly beingn jolted around and having the camera bouncing around

Since the game is open world and is so big, the game can't look perfect. The guy's a little too critical. Interesting video though

people as critical as this will be what fuels developers to eventually create games so good that you cant complain

Jesus christ man...how long does this guy need to explain simple things, why does it have to take so long. And sure..the wolf running at you and attack COULD look worlds better, but its not like its horrible. He really seems to be making it a big deal. And is he really criticizing the wolf's teeth now? That a wolf's teeth are long, but this long he wonders?..jesus man...it's a game, it's not about realism, it's fantasy. If Bethesda wanted to make the teeth a bit longer, that's their right.

Exactly HOW much is he gonna complain about little things like this in the video..cause no way in hell am i gonna finish this.

dude how much are you going to complain about another person's opinion that you chose to listen to? its pointless. and dont bash him for taking a long time to explain things when english is obviously not his first language

Well he did dwell on the wolves longer than he needed but otherwise I liked it and respected his opinion although I still don't get picking on old footage when its not the completed game.

This is my very first complaint about the guy. The dude is simply taking it way too far...after the part with the wolves he says 'we deserve better' jesus , is he serious?

The rocks and boulders have smooth edges because of those fire spitting dragons. Their fire breath melts the rocks. It was a design choice made by the level designers. So when you see smooth rocks you know a hero has been incinerated there. So a good rule of thumb is to not spend too much time around smooth rocks....

i mean i just posted this a couple minutes ago, but people this critical will eventually push developers to create games that are, for lack of a better word, perfect. some of what hes saying is obviously not possible, for whatever technical or time or money restraints, but i think this kind of nitpicking is crucial in the long run for the betterment of games

Edit: for the record, i thought the wolf teeth thing was a little ridiculous too

This man's complaints are intelligent, coherent, and usually valid. Here on the forums you won't see much of that.

You can complain all you want about a game but if you spend most of your time complaining you forget to realize the things that are actually there that were not present before in previous titles.
And that to me is ignorance... but again that's just my opinion :vaultboy:

Like the other person said, you are looking way too much into it. I do admit that i am slightly annoyed that people nitpick so incredible much. And while it might be true that we'll eventually get better games because of stuff like this, i feel like he won't even be able to enjoy the game when it comes out. When you nitpick so much.....how are you gonna enjoy it then?

Well sure but then there's reality and in reality you have to ask yourself "Is a developer actually going to listen to this guy for 50mins complaining non stop about the game they've already spent huge amounts of time and effort in making... I think not"

right, i understand that too, which is why im choosing not to be the ebenezer scrooge of skyrim, and rather enjoy how epicly badass every second of the hundreds of hours im going to put into this game are going to be, i just dont think the guy needs to have his throat ripped out for his personal opinion
