Attributes and Perks

I really doubt they are doing it to make it more difficult. Everything they seem to be doing is to make it less difficult.

We shall see, Xarnac. Just don't be surprised if suddenly your magical flames just don't burn, they don't burn the way the used to, or if your tumble down the stairs hurts you a hell of a lot more, even when what is left of your stats says you are a leve 50 warrior.

If I hit someone with a blade then the damage is calculated by how effectively I can wield it (skill) And by pure muscle (strength).

If someone hits me with a blade I absorb damage calculated by the type of armour (skill) I am wearing and my body's physique (Endurance)

Each of these two attributes I mentioned above are crucial in any situation. Beth removed all attributes thus character distinction is gone.

My 2 feet tall orc warrior has no more strength then a Bosmer elf.

I do not just want to be able to sprint longer then someone else, I also want be able to sprint faster then someone else.

You get the picture OP?

its good Bethesda are catering for the people that don't like headaches

like me :D

I think my mana pool svcks, so in OB I had to calculate how to train my skills and when to add Intel. and I must run around a tree 5 times and jump 3 times and press 237 buttons at the right sequence in 10 seconds or my computer will fry

in Skyrim I add mana the end

yes i think Todd has got it right this time

Nope, everything is numbers, all mathematicians and scientists agree. Sorry, Im right about that. Progression is numbers. A real life date isn't a video game component, but 1st base, 2nd base etc. there's your numbered progression.

Are you just being thick to save face? Mathematicians, scientists...they use numbers in their line of work. And again...just because you can count something DOES NOT mean it's made of numbers!!
Numbers were made by men, looong ago to make measurement easier instead of just going "Well I got more sheep than you". Numbers don't control anything...numbers ARE controlled but the very factors they measure.

Say a person can't count? He'll never get to 3rd base? Don't you think he'll just call it what it is? "YAHOOO" or something? You're actually saying, that without numbers there is no progression...I've still to see an argument from you though ;)

Now, your reply to this will likely offer some more examples of things you can count...but the truth is, numbers are not the fabric of our world, just a man-made concept to make it easier to count, measure, valuate, categorize etc.

This arguement will go know where .But i agree with the folks that say roelplaying is playing a role not picking it before you play.I also agree that the current system is a system which possibly end up with the same results as far as game play .You can say there is no strength but its a game there was no real strength before just things that gave the appearance of strength just like it will be in this game just because you dont see a stat that says strength doesnt mean anything has changed in the way it functions.LUCK ????random high loot drops you can actually be lucky and get them i dont think one should just be born lucky when you can actually make youre own luck in the game. But i do understand those that wanted a more involved system instead of a system i see as beening largely the same as in the way it will function.Could this have been done better in the old format its possible but it isnt in this game .I dont think the game play will suffer .Just my two cents .

I'm just upset I might not be able to have a super fast character. I hope there's a 'movement speed' enchantment

Then what you wanted was something different than the old system where my naked orc at 100 speed ran just as fast as my kahjiit with 100 speed and my max strength bosmer carryed as much as my orc .To the point here really was not much differance at all .Im fine with more variance and it could be better with more racial differances. But that is not due to removeing the stats they didnt function well in makeing the races feel distinct but for the first 10 minutes of play on the last game anyhow.

Because bosmer could never achieve the same strength as your 2 feet tall orc warrior?

Numbers have been present since existence. We just gave it a name.

Pretty much, we didnt create geometric shapes, our brain, or a star. We just put a name on the rules of our existence.

Numbers are our perception, they are our reality. Everything is numbers. the only person that would be trying to save face is you since I speak the truth.
