My attributes increased unexpectedly

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:52 pm

I don't know what I did, or how it happened. I'm playing the game normally and I have no enchantments. My speed, agility and endurance were in the late 40's and 50's, then, immediately, when I travel to a new destination (it's been mostly dungeons because I'm doing Fighters Guild quests) all three attributes just jump to 100. Why is this happening? It's not fun. How do I avoid this?

Did you contract Lycanthropy or Vampirism?

I don't believe so. I fought a few werewolves, but there was no message or anything.

Checked my attributes, as I have a previous save. The a fore mentioned attributes was an estimate.

My endurance is 63, speed is 60 and Agility is 40. It seems they've jumped 40 points

EDIT: From my last save. When I wait or travel for 2 days or more, that's when they jump. Being that I was fighting werewolves recently, would that mean I've contracted Lycanthropy? How do I cure it OR how do I become a werewolf?

wait wait wait. How do I find out if I DO in fact have a disease?

If you have contracted Lycanthropy, you would of had a dream sequence after you contracted it and rested. The only way this sequence won't occur is if you have the game set up to not play cutscenes for some reason. Once you have the dream, you have 3 days to make it to a temple and cure it. (it probably shows up in your health status--hit "I" I believe--during those 3 days) After that, you have to do a specific quest to rid yourself of it. There may be a bug that causes you to miss the cutscene, but I haven't encountered it.

Your stats wouldn't have risen until after you've fully transformed into a Lycanthrope. Your STR would of increased as well. They do increase by 40 points.

Edit: Check your spell book and see if you have a spell called "Lycanthropy".

None of that. My strength was maxed prior to any of this, so I couldn't confirm any rise. I've seen no dream, and I checked the info on my character and apparently "I'm healthy".
Let me try this again and see if there's a change.

And I checked and about a day later I transform.

I can't seem to see the dream. Say I rest for 24 hours and the dream is to occur on the 17th hour, I won't be able to see the dream. Say I rest 16 hours, then rest one more hour, I still never see the dream, only the picture of the werewolf. What a shame

Pretty interesting. I'll have a mod close this pretty soon. Thanks Scampers.

But... I have but one more question. Being that I have a save before I attain all the effects of Lycanthropy, should I cure it, or leave it? Is it fun? is it worth it, to just leave it?
Thanks

You might as well try it out. It's easy enough to get cured of it if you don't like it.
