Attributes visualize themselves in the player's/NPCs' looks

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:37 am

as long as their won't be aura's (and with that I mean shiny glowing things circle around yr body) as for they derealize TES and that's exactly what makes this game awesome for me, the fact that in this other universe where physics are not absolute but can be compromized by magic, still physics play a heavy role and it still looks kinda realistic.

Absolutely do not want it. I don't want to spend forever customizing my character to get them just right, only to have the game immediately take it away.

I'd rather there be no transformations. They were always ugly in Fable for the most part.

Except when you made an utterly evil character, at least in the first one (only one I've ever played). Ugly was good in that case, especially with a full suit of that dark plate armor.

When you were evil you looked evil, yeah. But when you were good you tanned and looked all odd. XD

Fable 3 actually has you lose skin color when you're good oddly enough. Almost to the point of being blue. Lionhead really can't figure their stuff out I think.

It would be kind of cool.
On the other hand it could change your character in ways you don't want it to.
So yeah... it depends on how big the changes would be.

This
I would rather make my character look how I want him/her to look, not have their looks decided by what attributes I put more points on. If I want a warrior character but decide I would like to learn how to use illusion, I don't want him to all of the sudden adopt a mystical mage look. Just let us have a variety of options in character customization so we may craft our own characters the way we see fit.

As long as it's not as extreme as fable2, where your character gradually transforms into a gorilla.

No. I don't want my character becoming a hulk just because s/he has a high strength stat.

Players should be able to decide the character's build at chargen - bulky, lithe, etc. Complete control. I don't want to have to pursue a specific stat just to obtain a specific build.

IMHO, it would work very well, although not all attributes should visualize themselves in the same way. For example, when you have high athletics your character may sometimes jog in place... that's all fine-and-dandy for your Arena Champion, but what about the Dark Knight who strikes fear into the hearts of citizens? Not so much.

Things should be represented in a more realistic manner. Characters with more Strength/Athletics would probably be more muscular, characters with more endurance would be a little wider, and maybe other things could visualize themselves in other ways like:

Destruction making your character create a ball of fire/frost/lighting in their hand and then get rid of it.
Acrobatics making your character jump in a different way.
Personality making your character acquire more compliments while passing through the streets.
A character with high sneak may gain new sneaking animations, looking stealthier than before.

All of those sort-of things could manifest themselves visually without making you go "UGH! That destroys my character completely!"

I mean, when you have high Athletics people comment on your muscles already, so it's not like you're changing much other than looking like you should. But that doesn't mean it should get taken to the extreme either and all of the characters should be running around with so much muscle that they can hardly move. Balance is key. :)

Maybe ideas like these could be optional during character creation. But I don't want it mandatory for my magical character to look magical. Or my warrior character to be a hulking mass of muscle...

That's also true...

Hmm... sliders would be very nice for things like this. Making a character look more muscular, heavier, more slender, etc. It'd be nice if we got a body editor along with a face editor... Would really help with giving characters a unique feel too.

Upper Body-
  • Muscularity
  • Thickness
  • briast Size (for girls, just for some variation, not for people to just max out constantly... although I could see them doing that. Ugh.)
  • Hand Size

Lower Body-
  • Muscularity
  • Thickness
  • Foot Size

Entire Body-
  • Height
  • Skin-Tone (would apply to the body, rather than the face)
  • Scars/Details (Hair, Scars, Tattoos, Etc.)

In a dream, I suppose it'd be possible. *single tear*

I tried it in Oblivion, and it worked like a lead balloo-

I think I may have figured it out... *shivers with glee and runs to Blender*

I say no because you can already pretty much tell the type of combat someone specializes in by their gear. I think if a guy is running at me with heavy armor and a claymore I can tell he's a melee type. Looking for large muscles will be a waste of time. I'd rather have complete control how my character looks anyways.
