audio in cutscenes is skipping and "gargled" effect

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 4:02 am

*Win7 x64 ultimate (fully updated)
*Asus P5N-D - most recent BIOS release - nforce 15.51
*Intel Q6600 with both 1600x9 and 1600x8 for 3.6 and 3.2ghz (3.6ghz is normally game-stable whereas 3.2ghz is Prime95-stable)
*BFG Geforce GTX 260 OC - drivers 267.24 - run default clock and 680mhz (gc), 1465mzh (pc), 1155mhz (mc)
*8gb DDR2 @ 1066mhz 5-5-5-15, 2T (recommended settings)
*Realtek Audio onboard controller - drivers Vista_Win7_R258_x64 (latest)
*Using MSI's Afterburner software to display in-game the gpu clocks/temp/fan/mem usage, etc

Each time game goes to a cutscene, the audio skips and has "gargled" effect. Playback is OK from the menu once unlocked.

I'm having the same issue. The only audio issue I experience is during cutscenes. It is so bad I press "ESC", quit the game and view the unlocked version just to follow the story, then restart the game.

I tried changing the sound quality default format between various settings 16bit, 24 bit, and the various hertz quality settings with no luck

My sound card is on-board as well, however it's a SoundMax ADI AD2000B (Asus P6t Deluxe) with latest drivers. I've seen a couple posts on this problem with no resolution.

I'm having the same issue though I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi installed. It's very annoying, half of the sentences are cut off.

I have the same problem. It isn't operating system, drivers or any other applications problem: it's a Crysis 2 issue.

@CRYTEK: WHERE'S THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM?

I fixed my issue with the sound. I started at 3.6ghz and eventually clocked down to 3.0ghz. No loss in game performance anyway. I also lowered my voltages for cpu, and also a lil bit for NB and SB. The problem has gone away completely for me since making these changes.

I had the same issue, I had to drop down from Extreme settings to fix it. If you're using Extreme try lowering it by 1 quality setting.
