Audio issue on Proximity Suit?

Post » Mon May 25, 2009 8:20 am

Is anoyone else on the PS3 using the Proximity Suit and not getting ANY audio warning at all? The first I know of an enemy in my proximity is by the 'audio alert' sound of my neck being snapped?

Right now it seems like a bad perk but a clan mate of mine says he GETS the audio alert? I use PX21's and all the other footsteps and ambient sounds are just fine.

I got a warning with it last night. It allowed me to get the jump on a stealth killing fool!

I use the Astro A40 wireless headset and its saved my life many times and it sounds BEAST on xbox anyway!!... Also dont forget prox alarm need to be upgraded before it really give you a great warning... its not like it was in demo

Proximity Alarm (Automatic warning when an enemy is nearby)
Upgrade II = Increased warning frequency when an enemy is nearby
Upgrade III = Maximum warning frequency when an enemy is nearby

Depending on my connection, I get audio from time to time but maybe that's because I'm maxed out. I stopped relying on audio long ago and instead keep an eye out for the red bars.

I never even knew there was an audio for this...? I've just always watched for the red bars myself. Never once had an audio from it unless I have to upgrade first.

Will find out in a sec as it's close to upgrade.

Right now I@d settle for ANY warning but as it states AUDIO and for some people it works I'd be keen to know why it is selective as to who it works for?

No directional warning, and I'm pretty sure it'd be overpowered if it could do that lol. The closer the enemy is, the louder the warning sound becomes. I wouldn't trust the sound because it's a bit delayed (or maybe that's lag). Someone could easily sprint up within distance of taking you down with a Jackal before the sound goes off. The only good thing about maxing out Proximity Alert is that the red bars become more sensitive to enemy players around you. They don't wait until the last second to give you a heads up when someone's nearby.
