Audio recording of high-pitched "static" issue...

Post » Sun Dec 04, 2011 8:06 pm

Hey guys. I mentioned a week or so ago about a strange issue I've been having. I'll get high-pitched "static", or interference, etc, when in a dagger fight, or just when being attacked by a dagger for a prolonged time.

The media below is a 1 minute and 29 second recording of me fighting a Wood Elf both with daggers which features this high-pitched static. The 'static' first occurs at 0:37. It doesn't happen with EVERY dagger fight, just occasionally, and sometimes it doesn't even freeze the game on me. It's just odd. Note that this has happened on multiple save files. Whenever I strike the character in battle, it typically stops, but only for a short time.

See what you guys can make of it, if anything... :) (pretty big file for a .wav file, lol, sorry.)

Have you modified your sounds in any way? Check for a "sounds" folder in the Data folder, if it exists rename it to something else and see if it stops. If it doesn't stop, check that your sounds BSA is 322,869KB in size.

If these don't solve it then try using this: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35868
Followed by installing the K-Lite Codec Pack.

Oh, well that changes things a a bit

Try cleaning the disk, and checking the audio (or HDMI) cable is firmly inserted.

Okay, will do. I actually have it running on fiber optic as my audio/video receiver is kinda old, thus not having HDMI, but it fit very firmly well into my old PS3 and I still had this problem.
