Aura Whisper - your opinion?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 8:40 pm

What is your opinion on this shout? Do you use it often or at all?

I personally use this shout at least 50 times in a dungeon, it's so helpful and it has a low cooldown... I only got the first word of it at like 30 hours of gameplay... i'm at 130 hours of gameplay now, i don't want to know where are the other words, i will find them. But even with a single word this shout is one of the most helpful ones in my opinion :)

There are Detect Life and Detect Dead spells which do this as well... except that they don't have that huge range like this shout.

It's not worth wasting a dragon soul on.

Plus they don't reveal undead, dwemer bots or ummmm some other thing... maybe cliff racers. Brain fade.

Not like those are hard to come by....

I just got this Shout last night, I have not used it yet. Been involved in some pitched battles, and it's pretty easy to find your enemy in those.

Detect Dead shows undead... that's the point of it.. and if i'm right it also shows constructs, but i'm not sure... i never used it yet.

Well, it's certainly more useful to sneaky characters... but i think it can be useful to anyone while dungeon diving.. you can looks around and see how many enemies to expect. One of the best things about the shout is that it shows dwarven spiders in the pipes and draugr in the coffins, so there is no big surprise when entering a room :)

I also often use it when i have to find a person who i need to talk to in a quest (as i don't use markers). I go in the building and then use Aura Whisper to look around to see where are the people in the house :)

Considering dragons are not finite...I don't see how it would be wasteful as opposed to as picking a skill. I have so many dragon souls their coming out the wazoo.

I guess I'm not one of them. Even when I'm actively chasing dragons I have more shouts than souls.

Personally think it's a top shout. Very useful when you're trying to be sneaky in DB quests and such. And the range is just insane.

Just keep playing. I used to go dragon hunting and I'd find maybe one or two an hour early on in the game. Now, I wish they'd stop attacking me. I don't think I've been to the College of Winterhold a single time in the past few days without a dragon attacking me.

I've got 40 souls saved up and quite a few shouts, many with three words. It'll happen!

Well it tells us the name of a shout some (even I) haven't come across and it reveals what it does. That is spoiler enough in my opinion.

"What is your opinion on this shout? Do you use it often or at all?"

This is the first sentence in my thread. Nobody asked you to read more after that line.... I intentionally started the thread like that..

I'm not trying to start an argument over it man. There are spoilers in this thread weather you intended for it or not and thus the reason I reported it so it will be moved to the Spoilers sub-forum. End of story. The mods will decide if it needs to be moved or not and that is the final word. I don't see why you are making a big deal out of it.

EDIT~~~

Looks like the mods agree.

But i see you have nothing better to do :)
