Auri-El

So when did Auri-El get associated with the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Auriel%27s_Bow? I thought the sun was a Magnus thing.

Since Dawnguard, I think.

I feel it's like Magnus made the sun, but Auriel flew through it, and since Auriel is more important to the Mundus as a whole, we care more about "Auriel ascending via sunhole" then "Magnus made the sunhole".

Auriel represents the ascension of the spirit beyond the mortal plane, to Aetherius. It's the fundamental Aldmeri religious point of view that Mundus is a prison. To somehow escape it like Magnus did is considered divine.

On the other side of the coin, note that the prophecy of the sun was a forgery, written by a vampiric Snow Elf to get revenge on Auriel for forsaking him.

The prophesy was, but the Falmer religion clearly associated Auriel with the sun long before Vyrthur was turned. That said, I think your first explanation is probably the best one.

Potentially an amalgamation of Ayleid and Aldmer beliefs.

Or, and this is radical, let's talk about Magnus being the third side of the space-time coin.

Well, then it wouldn't be a coin, but...anyways

I always felt that Magnus was on par with DA BIG A and DA BIG S.

Aka-time, Shez-space, Mag-______
Now we must fill in the blank.

Thought? Crafting (in the sense of the concept of creation)?

EDIT: By Vehk I got it! Light. Magnus is light! Now, you might be thinking "Alk, no [VEHK]ing duh", but let's think of the ramifications of it. Light is the source of all life, and creates division (light and darkness). Light also is a substance that exists as both a particle and wave simultaneously.

If Auriel is the soul of Anuiel soul of Anu, and Lorkhan is the soul of Sithis soul of Padhome, Magnus is the soul of Mundus soul of the Aurbis itself. He is what makes a difference between A and S; their [M]ediator, if you will.

But then Shezzar/Lorkhan stole the place as "soul of Nirn". I smell an enatiomorph!
...or I could just be grasping at straws.

Coins have edges, don't they?

King-Rebel-Observer, Time-Space-....thing.

EDIT: That's pretty.

A few problems, though; Shouldn't Nirni be the soul of Mundus? Magnus-soul-of-Aurbis is thematically resonant, though.

Division between the two. That's what Magnus is.

We already knew: Auriel/Rebel, Lorkhan/King, Trinimac/Observer.

This would imply that Magnus and Trinimac are connected.

Everybody and Trinimac are connected.

Hang on, let's get out the Long-Form Enantiomorph:

As far as the Anuad:

Nirn (Female/Land/Freedom catalyst for birth-death of enantiomorph)/ Anu-Padomay (enantiomorph with requisite betrayal)/ ?* (Witnessing Shield-thane who goes blind or is maimed and thus solidifies the wave-form; blind/maimed = = final decision)

*Seek and you shall find. I hid it.

Bonus:

King Hrol (seeker/Healer of Kingdom), "from the lands beyond lost Twil". Twil as Twilight. Grey Maybe. Aurbis. His knights numbered "eighteen less one," the number of the Hurling Disk.

I'm hesitant to bring Trinimac in this. He's already himself, Tsun, Stuhn, and Malacath.
