Aurora Borealis?

Yes

I assume you mean there is another continent further North, and that Skyrim is far enough North. In that case I vote yes.

I'd be more excited about seeing them in real life (one day perhaps!) but I'm all for stuff like this in games, rainbows too and the occasional shooting star, seasonal weather patterns, different types of clouds, tides etc. so yes why not :)

Yes. It doesn't even have to be because of a huge electromagnetic vortex and photons. It could be something to do with Magnus, or the et'ada and all that cool TES cosmology-magic stuff.

More weather effects! Rainbows, circumhorizontal arcs, in-cloud lightening, etc.
Yeah, you have never seen rainbows in the TES series. But when it's raining during the day, one would expect to once in a while see the light from Magnus (the sun) bending into different colors.

This is something I always missed in Solstheim, so here's an emphatic YES! :D

I wasn't trying to say that it does but capturing in by video is not to see it. I am saying even standing there and watching it one can't really capture the awe of the lights. I see them most clear nights in winter and they can't be reproduced by any method and that is what I was trying to say.

Can't be videoed, photographed, coded, or in any way seen any way but by person to really visualize the essence of them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8THGqrjUDGI animating it in the beginning of the video, but it doesn't come close to the real deal.

And for me, if it's not right it will bother me.

From a purely physical standpoint, capturing the Northern Lights should be no harder than capturing a neon light considering in both cases all that is happening is excited atoms releasing light to reduce their energy.

You realize that... you know... Skyrim isn't on Earth, right? Just clarifying that the very unique stratosphere Earth possesses, in reaction to the solar winds and flares, is what creates the auroras...

But enough with the inane babbling about something that doesn't matter. Yeah, it'd be pretty neat to see them in the game. lol

Maybe so but I've never seen them done well. Have you seen them?

I'd love to see more visual interest up in the skies in TES V. Morrowind had its countless nebulae and constellations - I'd love to see something similar here.

Doesn't make sense with the lore, I don't think. It would make a pretty cool mod, though.

I think something similar would be awesome, although they would have to implement it well. I see them all the time in northern Canada so drawing comparisons would be inevitable. On a side note, I loved the sky in the Shivering Isles.

Yeah, you're right. I also elect to get rid of stars, because there is no way they can make sense in the lore. It's not like they can add more lore. It's just not possible.

Scientifically it doesn't make sense...

Aurora Borealis is a post industrial revolution by-product.

But did you see the northern lights they did in the beginning? Those were pretty good but not good enough in my book.

Those are stills. It's the movement that can't be quite captured. It moves and changes without you even seeing it when you are staring at it. And that is what is so awesome.
