Auto aim, lag compensation? Shots going through walls

Post » Tue Nov 09, 2010 6:23 pm

This is the situation, someone is shooting me, I'm running away and I manage to get away around a corner, then suddenly the bullet from the enemy makes a turn or goes through walls and hit me. I can clearly see this on the killcam.

I can stand behind any sort of object, wall, floor, whatever, I've been killed so many times seeing the last bullets going through something that normally it doesn't pierce...

What the hell is going on? If I shoot the **** wall, it doesn't get through, but if someone is shooting me on a run, the bullets make turns to pursue me?

Like, what tha **** is this? Lag compensation? So who has the biggest ping has a better chance to kill someone running away?

yes.. c2 has terrible client side netcode

basically you lag out and if server happens to lag.. you can run around and kill statically standing enemys while they dont see you but you can melee each one of them until lag goes away

and kills are effective!! on their screen they might be cloaked in corner and no one in near 100 meters.. but they die since on your screen you are beating them....

thats how awesome netcode crysis 2 has

What a shame...

I came from a different background, quake1, TF, action quake 2, return to castle of wolfenstein (best multiplayer ever, that was the BEST) and BF2, this so far is the worst implementation of anti lag. It is not my fault someone has a bad connection, blame the ISP!
The problem is that so far, this game doesn't impose teamplay, and the objectives are very vague. In the end, it is just a deathmatch with 2 teams.

I miss a bit of BF2 as the tournaments like CAL were awesome, really professional but the game was very buggy. Wolfenstein was the best!

It is just me thinking this or every EA game gets worse and worse compared to ID software?
I can't remember a single game from ID that I had any major problems, with EA, ****.... I've lost the count

You may see kills being affected by lag, but bullet penetration of materials modelled in the game, so you will often be legitimately be killed through an object.
