auto aim, targeting distance & firing distance

Post » Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:03 pm

has there been anything said about these topics? (probably but i cant find it)...

ooh and weapon kick.

these were some of my biggest gripes with fallout 3 (thank you modders for changing this)

i was hoping auto aim had the option to be disabled & that aiming and firing distances were much, much farther. Also on a much less realilistic note that they would have added a kick to weapons based on skill.

auto aim makes things to easy. i dont like it. it works well with games like GTA but not in first person shooters

as for weapons kick. im all for adding some kick.

I hope the soft auto aim is at least removed on the PC version. There is just no need for it, especially with VATS.

Soft auto aim?

i'd be happy if weapon sway took the place of auto aim. i just hate watching bullets take off from the barrel at a 10 degree angle.

At least auto-aim is one of the few things where most people who have a problem with it (PC users), will have a means to remove it (Mods).

i lover the modders. but i would be nice if the options were built in. it's not fair for me to say it should be one way or another but having options is nice.

SpEcTrE... i dont know. i play with FWE, MMM & xCALIBRuniverse (add a nice kick) with the auto aim all but disabled & it doesn't feel easy to me. the first shot maybe, if i'm crouched and the enemy dosn't know i'm there. (but that should be easy. one of the bennies to being sneaky) but after that it doesn't seem easy.

Why do people keep calling it a first person shooter ? It's an RPG with FPS elements.

If by "weapon kick" you mean the crosshair rising on automatic weapons if you hold down the button, it's not going to be like that and the developers have said as much. Instead, fully automatic weapons will have recoil the same way they did in FO3: bullets will always deviate away from where you are actually aiming no matter what. How far they deviate depends on the weapon you're using and your weapon skill percentage rating.

yeah see that's what i mean. that svcks. bullets should go where ever the barrel is facing. skills, perks etc should dictate how easy it is to keep the barrel facing where you want it. but aahh well it'll still be a great game. i'll just have to wait for the modders to "fix" these things.

Because you shoot weapons in first person. Its almost impossible to find a game without rpg elements lately. As much as I hate to watch the tbs genre die, fps is an accurate description for this game.

Press VATS, then exit VATS, then shoot.
Auto-aim.

They said they did this for balancing purposes, that it made it to easy to kill people at longer ranges or something...
It's in an interview, but I can't remember which one...
