Auto/Quick save troubles

First post in the tech support thread, hope I do it properly. Up untill recently my game has been running perfectly but upon starting up this afternoon, my current playthrough's quick and autosave files cause an instant crash to desktop after the load screen. I have tried using both backupfiles and a game and machine restart. My save files all work fine, however my most recent save for said playthrough is a few hours work. Thanks =)

Having the same issue.. was running great until recently, have 64 hours in the game and now randomly I can't load my current saves.. keeps crashing to desktop. It also does it on the manual saves.

I tried saving my game 3 times that way only the most recent one would be corrupted, but nope, doesn't work.. all the files end up being corrupt.

Any ideas on how to fix?

To bad that Obsidian/Bethesda doesn't print the golden rule since Morrowind "never use auto-/quicksave" on front of their gameboxes. Well, here's my advice...NEVER...use auto-/quicksave. Do manual saves every 15-30 minutes with rotating savegames. I use 10 saves that I let constantly rotate, so incase one gets corrupteds I can get back to the latest good one. Overwritting save files multiple times again (like 100-200) will corrupt the save files. So it's also a good advice to make backups whenever you leave the game and sometimes delete old saves and make a fresh one.

But just like I said, to bad they didn't let you know from the beginning that you shouldn't use autosave^^ Still wonder why they implemented it in the first place. They know it's corrupt...they know it since Morrowind.

I turned off autosave and never use it. I deleted all my autosaves for the hell of it and only left my manual ones, I always make a new save never overwriting, and still..it crashes to desktop, all previous manual saves are corrupt also... good game tho, runs nice after the d3d9 file. But now this crap.
