[RELz] Automated Camera Settings (FOV & 3'rd Person)

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 5:31 pm

Does altering FOV in the ini cause UI problems like it did in Oblivion?

No, there are two different ones you can change in Fallout's .ini so it doesn't do the same thing that Oblivion did when you changed it's default FOV and it won't revert like Oblivion did if you just used the console command.

I do not have a fDefaultWorldFOV in my ini. I do have a fDefaultFOV, however.

You have to add fDefaultWorldFOV in the display section of the .ini.

You don't need to get it to auto-equip, you just need a gamemode block on the item or on a quest checking if(getgameloaded).
Thanks. I got rid of the glasses entirely and simplified it per your suggestion.
Thanks Justin.. :goodjob:
Nice, new glasses :woot:
And being a lefty myself, you're right. :P
Also, if my oma were to call you "dad"... then you're slightly younger than Lincoln :D

Acolyte is thinking if his grandma is that old, that then Bossman must be-
SHUT UP ACKY!!!
Acolyte gonna be quiet now :D
Be sure to download it again as the newer version is better. Huzzah for leftys!

Just uploaded a drastically improved plugin with a http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/images/7384-1-1254984153.jpg. You can choose your settings for FOV and 3'rd person camera perspective now and they'll both be adjusted immediately by using the menu as well as re-applied upon loading your saves. It does use an item, but you can leave it wherever after you've set things the way you want and come back to it if you change your mind. It isn't a quest item, so it's not glued to you.

Shouldn't that be FOV 85 rather than FOV 95?

If you've set it to 85, the 85 option won't be available until you've selected a different option. All buttons only show when they're viable choices, that is you can't set the FOV to 85 if it's already set to 85, but you can if it's set to anything else.

New version available: http://www.mediafire.com/?khhni1bwhkz <--Includes fix for reported issue in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1007718-relz-automated-camera-settings-fov-3rd-person/page__p__16071234&#entry16071234

Changelog:

  • Got rid of the menu object in favor of using a hotkey (right shift) since this absolutely requires FOSE to work
  • Per a user's request, hotkeys will shift the 3'rd person camera to the three designated positions (right and left arrows)
  • Two additional hotkeys will zoom the camera FOV in and out incrementally (up and down arrows)
  • All five hotkeys can be set to whatever one desires.
  • Scoped weapon FOV 'fix' is no longer optional and will happen automatically
  • Integrated FOSE detection (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1070012-relzresource-the-chicken-and-the-egg/page__p__15550620&#entry15550620) updated to newest version
  • 'FOSE not found!' message removed.

Feedback would be much appreciated before I update this on the nexus. Please let me know if anything goes wrong, if there's anything at all you think could be improved, or if there are additional options you can think of as there's always room for more buttons.

That's the exact URL (http://www.mediafire.com/?ohj4f3zjmdg) provided by MediaFire. I had to Google 'clickjacking' and I assure you I had no maligned intent. If it's the case that MediaFire is up to some sort of shenanigans, I'll no longer use it. I just clicked the same link and it led me to the MediaFire download page and its link led to a file download, my .7z. What do you propose I do? Did any of the other 14 people who'd downloaded this have an issue? If so, I'll kill that link.

Here's the same pack from RapidShare: http://rapidshare.com/files/399983474/Automated_FOV.7z.html

Thanks for confirming. If there's any doubt about MediaFire whatsoever, I'd just assume stop using it, but it's served me well as far as I know for the passing along of countles files including FOOK hotfixes, some of which had thousands of hits. This is the first time anyone has ever mentioned anything of the sort.

Glad to hear the plugin worked all right for you. :) Provided another day or so goes by and no bugs are reported, I'll make that the primary download on the Nexus.

Wait no one else got a hijack to another website when clicking to download?

strange

sorry - that is what happened to me. Just tried it again and what happened was that Firefox blocked a pop up on loading the download page and then after clicking the download link another pop up splash page appeared. It may have been that I accidentally clicked a link on that pop up.

Links fine for me. I downloaded it yesterday with no problems and played for two hours last night with it installed.

Unfortunately, the only feedback I can give at this point is that you should remember to turn the file on after installing it, or it really doesn't impact your game much. :)

I'll try to get some useful feedback tonight.

I just downloaded the file and had no hijacking issues, brought me straight to the download file. I use firefox as well. I will try this one out, even though I use saiden storms camera mod :)

[edit] whoops, this isn't the same thing as the mod I mentioned. I think I will need this for sure since I use a widescreen :D

No sweat. MediaFire does tend to bombard one with ads and such, but the price was right. I use Avant which blips (blocks ads) when dong most anything there.

Yeah, activating the plugin always helps. Sometimes, while testing stuff out, I'll get uber confused as to why a script isn't working when, lo and behold, I'd spaced turning the plugin on. >_<

Glad to hear all went well. Provided there aren't any issues for anyone, I'll update the FOOK integrated version to include the new stuff too.

Is it normal that the settings won't apply on loading a saved game?
When I open the menu with right shift, the settings seem to be right but only applied if I click them again. Like... click on another setting and then again on the setting previously saved.
This applies for FOV as well as 3rd person camera position.

I'm using the experimental version. And no other mod in my load order seems to use the Con_SetCameraFOV function, so it's unlikely to be overridden by something else (did a text search)
