I have a minor problem with an automatic laser weapon I've made. In the base model editing dialog box I checked the automatic check box, set the rate of fire, then in the animations tab I set the attack animation to "attack loop".
With those settings the gun works, but weirdly, for no reason I can think of, my character won't hold his aiming stance when firing the weapon. I hold the right mouse button to aim, he brings the weapon up from his hip to his shoulder, but then when I click the left mouse button to fire he drops his gun back down and shoots from the hip, while I'm holding the aim button.
I also made an automatic laser pistol and didn't have the same problem. All the same settings but when I fire that while aiming the character keeps holding the weapon in the usual aiming stance.
The problem only occurs when converting a laser rifle to automatic.
That said I've come up with a work around solution. I set the animation type to "two hand automatic" for some reason it seems like all of the reload animations are relative to the animation type which is stupid since they are all still available just shuffled up for no reason. So once I reset the animation type the reload animation was all wrong so I had to change the reload animation and go through all of the options one at a time until I got the usual laser rifle reload animation under the new two hand automatic type.
So I've got an animation type that works with an automatic, and I've got the right reload animation.
But now there's one new problem and one thing that bugs me with the current setup.
Now with the "two hand automatic" and "reload B" combination for some reason the weapon isn't lined up with properly with the hand motions. The character makes all the right movements, but appears to be fiddling with something at the bottom of the stock of the laser rifle instead of up at the top where the microfusion cell goes. So it doesn't look right. It's a detail thing, but it annoys me.
So how can I get the character to fire the automatic laser rifle from the shoulder while still keeping the reload animation lined up properly?
Oh and the one thing that bugs me about but isn't quite a problem is the fact than with the "two hand automatic" animation type the character holds the rifle with slight lean to the outside of his stance instead of straight up and down.
So if anyone could help me fix those things, I'd really appreciate it.
One more thing is that I want to make a scoped laser rifle but I know I can't do that with the GECK. What can I do it with? And how?
