Automatic Perks?

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:06 pm

In Oblivion, you kind of got perks every 25 levels in each skill; like not losing stamina when pulling back a bowstring at level 25 archery. What I want to know, is do you think there will be this kind of perkage along with the new perk system that will be in Skyrim? Or will the new perk system completely remove the old kind?

I don't think it wil be automatic like that. You can choose.
and a perk should only unlock based on how much you use a particular skill.

You choose our perks, they aren't automatic.

This gives me an idea: perk planning.

Basically you set out the perks you want each level early and when the time comes, you get the perk without having to handpick it when you level.

But oh yeah, Sleign's right.

I wasn't asking whether or not ALL perks would be automatic, only whether there would be automatic perks every 25 levels to complement the ones you choose because if I want to get better in one skill, but do not want to spend one of my 50 perks on it because it is a side skill, it would be cool if I got something from leveling it other than basic increases to your effectiveness in using that skill.

I don't think they will have any automatic perks, but maybe. They really want you to invest in what you want to do.

I suspect there will be a number of automatic perks you get as a reward for finishing various quests.

Well I believe perks will have skill level requirements and requirements of other perks, at leveling we receive number of perk points thats can be used for choosing certain perk thats fit requirements and some parameter upgrade points for improving Fatigue Health or Magicka, some perks can be starting and racial so we receive them at beginning some will no has requirements and work as basis of character specialization.
