Automatron DLC Is AMAZING! What Do You Think?

Those robo-brains were made with chimpazee brains, the ones we see in Automatron are made with human. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Robobrain

i'm rather sure she does. she keeps saying how groovy it is to run with me and stuff like that, that's lines triggered by high relationship ranks.

she seems to be easy to convince anyway (pretty much ignored her most of the time), or maybe the thruster i gave her for legs makes her high :-)

I dont know, I quite liked Ada. Like the guy above me said, her voice has seductive tones to it and seems more realistic than overly stereotypcai one of Curie's. I think if she had a synth body, she'd be a bomb and half.

It's okay, but I wouldn't call it amazing. I'm disappointed I can't build Eyebots, which is stunning considering I can make a bot with a Mr. Handy jet pack. The mechanics to have one follow are clearly there, so I'm at a loss of why we can't have EDE 2.0.

The quest was what I expected*, and wasn't expecting much from the Machinist. For the few bucks it cost, the trade off was about right.

At least it wasn't horse armor.

Spoiler

Loved the final battle with all those bots. Felt like this was the real Combat Zone. Too bad we couldn't convert it to a bot-fighting arena, because that would be freaking cool.

Still want an Eyebot for a companion, Bethesda.

And that's my two caps. :D

I agree. I want an Eyebot as a companion as well! If we say it enough, perhaps Bethesda will update Automatron real quick to allow such! Otherwise, I'm waiting for mods.

i'll tell soemthing about people complaining about the 10 dollars "issue"

you should be glad it's so cheap for you, at least in south america, it costs like 3-4x this because of our currency.

even if it's more expensive in my country, i still think it's worthy it.

Pro:

Building bots for settlements could be fun. Still don't know if they affect happiness though...

Cons:

New weapons are truly underwhelming and pretty much useless.

Armor lacks any reason to use it over anything else.

Bot mods don't change the final result much. Hard to justify putting points into robotics expert just to get slightly better mod options.

Content is always nice, but I'm a bit underwhelmed.

ummm not to ruin anyone's game, but power armor, psychojet, medx, melee weapon of choices. bots don't stand a chance. add in a few mines/nades here and there and it's over before it starts. that the main fight. just watch out for the dueling bot and the ones that have fire they can be annoying.

Met ADA, Lost interest before even bothering with anything more. Far Harbor needs to be WAY more interesting and I think at least the new setting should do it for me.

Automatron is nothing special, below average I'd say. It surely isnt worth the price it costs.

It's worth it to those who want it. Two people can buy identical bicycles. One rides his every day, improves his health and staves off a heart attack. The other rides it once then puts it in his garage to collect dust in favor of watching porm and eating cheetos. To the first guy, the bike is probably one of the best purchases he ever made. To the second, it was a waste of money. Both are right in the context of their own needs, but it's still the same bike.

For some people, the DLC won't be worth ten bucks. For some people, video games aren't worth their time or money at all. Other people though will easily get their money's worth out of the product. It doesn't have an objective value, only a subjective one, and nobodies opinion of it's ultimate value is valid for anyone other than themselves.

I'll get ten bucks worth out of my copy. I also got the season pass for thirty bucks, so I didn't pay ten bucks for it anyway.

With that in mind, I bought a season pass before the price rise. For the money I paid, it's good value.

Man I'm just so happy with this DLC. Now I can finally roleplay as Dr. Eggman and conquer the commonwealth!

you can, within limitations, even without automatron, but robot expert.

like, a bit west from sunshine tidings, there's one eyebot pointlessy floating about for no apparent reason (at least i couldn't find any explanation whatsoever for his presence, except it being an invitation for me to take it :-).

long before automatron, i "abducted" him to sunshine tidings, and whenever i left shut him down so he'd not return to his original location (and likely get destroyed on the way).

one time though, i forgot, and at about oberland, i noticed him following me around.

and that's just what you can do: hack it, have it follow you. period. not much, i know, but better than no eyebot at all :-) (wish i could at least have him play the radio anyway)

...which leads me to one option i really miss in automatron btw: i had very much hoped for a way to actually own an _existing_ robot. you can drag them to your settlement, sure. but there, you can't, like "kidnap" and assign them to your settlement, you really should though. a robot workbench would've been the perfect excuse :-|

I found this DLC to be thoroughly disappointing. Ten bucks for two new locations, a few items, and the ability to make robots. Creating and modding the robots is entertaining. But all told this feels like a lazy cash grab to me. Definitely not worth ten dollars. This was a 5 dollar pack at best.

I personally wish we could keep the trolls confined to their negative topics, and not pollute the ones we who enjoy the game go to to share our stories.

It's a thread asking what other people think. If you can't handle reading an opinion that is different than your own I don't know what to tell you :)
