Automatron DLC Is AMAZING! What Do You Think?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 5:04 pm

I have played Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas a lot and although their DLC's were good they didn't add anything new to the main game feature wise. The Fallout series seems to have changed this with Automatron. The building and customizing of robots is a completely new and cool thing and I absolutely love this new feature, what do you think of Automatron?

Haven't deep dived into the DLC yet, still trying to collect enough aluminum to upgrade Ada to her fullest.

But initial impression, love seeing Ada mowng down a bunch of ghouls with her twin mini-guns.

I'm quite satisfied with it. There's more content than I was expecting. I expected it to have about an hour worth of quest content, but it actually took me about 3 hours to play through the whole quest line. We got new weapons, armor, and power armor, a new companion, and the ability to build unlimited robot companions. The robot building is way more customizable than I was expecting it to be. I think this DLC has definitely lived up to the hype. I'm looking forward to the rest of them even more now.

I'm hoping we can send our robots into the combat arena with Wasteland Workshop.

As the old saying goes, you can never be too young, or too rich, or have too many robots.

It's impressive!

I don't think anything else they release will be able to topple it. What other feature can they include in a DLC that adds a whole new gameplay mechanic that works so well in so many areas? The arena one is a little expansion of something already in the game, and the far harbor only seems to be focused on land, story and quests, it doesn't promise any new gameplay mechanic. I am afraid Bethesda already ruined the fun for the future DLC releasing the best one first.

It's decent and about what I expected it to be.

I like it for what it is, but it definitely isn't worth the 10$ price tag given how little content it has.

The Robot customization mechanics themselves are worth more than 5$, the rest (quests, new items, two new dungeons, etc.) worth around 5$ as well. Objectively, it IS worth 10$.

The dlc itself offers up some really hectic moments with all manners of robot abominations going right for your groin, especially in the final chapter where there we're moments when I considered a retreat and rethink my approach and equipment.

Also, being able to give a specific voice to my home made robots is pretty cool.

Considering that the DLC in New Vegas costs the same amount and has more than double the content that Automatron does, no it is not objectively worth 10$.

And the final battle allows you to create your own little army of robots to fight agaisnt another army. I didn't notice that when I tried it but I couldn't do it anyway because my level was too low and my resources were really limited.

Haven't played it myself. But from what I read, it's packed for a 10 bucks.

And definitely still better than zombie attack and alien attack ideas.

Bethesda having to deal with inflation isn't my problem, nor do I have to be okay with them charging 10$ for a DLC that isn't worth the price compared to the 10$ dlc that New Vegas had.

Was only interested in one aspect of it all, tbh. I'm happy to see that the one thing I was worried about didn't happen.

I'm probably gonna buy the DLC some time in the future, though, I've high hopes for Far harbor!

Ummmm

It's worth $20, if you want to be serious about it. You did notice that most limbs have FOUR slots, right? That is a ton of content. I love the mechanic of unlocking mods through hunting down robots, it gives a purpose to finding and killing enemies. And in case you missed it, these robots are EVERYWHERE. They spawn everywhere in-game, as far as I can tell. Concord for sure, and downtown Boston, etc. Everywhere. Melee bots are very OP, but so are the "experimental" guns, with the cool mechanic of breaking. New armor, new power armor, and what appears to be a guaranteed full set of X-01 power armor. You can make quite a few bots, give them personality, and make them look and behave exactly as you want. What could you possibly complain about? $10 bucks? Bethesda should have made it at least $15!

Yep. Agreed.

Another recent RPG released a full expansion pack thay expanded the base open-world, added a new feature, added more side-quests, and a narrative story that rivals the main story - Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone for the price of $9.99.

This DLC is simply not worth the price and is a rip
