Can't wait to have my floating sentribot of doom.



I hope we can mix and match the "torso" of various robots with all sort of limbs.I'll give codsworth a pair of sixy assaultron legs.

I don't see how any robot I build would be a better companion than what we have. Sure maybe I can make them tougher, but it's not like the game is that hard anyway.



Would love to know what Perks will be needed to build these robots. A combination of Science and Armorer, or will there be new Robotics perks?



Only purpose I can see would be to just make a few to have walk around settlements and add to the defense. Course that would still be useless if I still have to actually be at the settlement to defend it every time.

That's right. Robots deals alot of damage, more than companions, but they are easy target for long distance weapons from hostiles. They are best suited for protection rather than attacks. Beside, they do not hide, but rather go straight ahead forward to hostile positions. If they are able to be invisible, good, but visible, not so good. Your last line said it all, why robots if we need to protect it all the time.

I can imagine a fully upgraded assaultron dominatrix with new weaponised arms and abilites could be pretty damn strong actually. Even better if we can have couple of robots with us and not just one.

I think going off Bethesdas current mentality of "good enough" (as can be seen with settlements) and "woo yeah power armour" I really think that mod makers will really refine automatron once it's out.

The more important thing is if we can modify Codsworth, Nick, and Curie with this system. If not, then we will likely see a mod that does this for any companion. Might make Preston more interesting if we change his arms to rocket launchers and his legs with tank treads. Would also explain his personality by being a Synth.

From the screen shot we see it's more than just adding parts, if you look at the robot it also has bags on it. So not only can you mix and match parts, add different weapons, but also add in modifications like added weight capacity. So I think it's going to be a pretty great addition to the crafting system, and the game as a whole.

Yeah as someone else point the screen shot that show on their website the robot have alot more that just part on it.
