Automatron theories

Post » Sat Mar 19, 2016 5:51 pm

Basically this is a think for theories about automatron.

To start out i think the reason that the mechanist seems evil unlike in fallout 3 is because the death of the robot that might have been his lover, that was mentioned in his dialogue was weighing on him so much he cracked, and became insane. and that the assault-tron that gave you all the information about him mentioned in the trailer was his robot maybe-lover and she didn't actually die. if anybody has anymore theories be my guest and post here.

From the trailer the mechanist looks like a person dressed as a robot. I'm going with Vault where there was one human and the rest robots. The human was raised by robots and never saw another person until he was an advlt. Therefore he thinks he is a disfigured/handicap robot and spends his whole life trying to be like them. He dresses like them, trys to learn as much as them, talks like them. When he comes to the surface he realizes their are many of these defective robots and not only that they don't want to be "fixed". Since they don't want to be fixed they must be cleansed before their programming spoils the whole batch.

Eh, no.

The Mechanist in the trailer looks almost exactly like the Mechanist from Fallout 3. He built robots to protect Canturbury Commons and then a nut job with the ability to control giant ants showed up, called herself the Antagonizer, and they started having battles in the middle of the town.

Given his costume being identical to the old one. He's either the same character, just a few years later, or someone taking up the mantle after he retired.

The Mechanist is a Pre-War comic book villain. The guy in Canterbury Commons didn't invent the identity - any quixotic joe could take up the mantle.

There was a rumour about the Mechanist possibly being the kid from Canterbury Commons in FO3.

The details about the DLC have been leaked but I'm not going to spoil it for anyone, all will be revealed in 4 days. We certainly do live in exciting times.

It will be Irish Mike (of Big Giant Swords fame), now mutated into a Ghoul.

the mechanist didnt die in the previous one, well atleast in the option that did not kill him that people think is the main path they are following, so that is where i got my assumption. and i dont remember anywhere stating that he was a comic character. he if i remember correctly invented the thing to become a super hero. even if he acted like a comic character.
