Automatron Trailer is up

Even if you can't find a wrench right away, you could still hit them with a the tire iron you find outside sanctuary until you find one.

Did anyone else notice that it looks like the Mechanist has some kind of custom pipboy. If you watch the trailer towards the end when he is standing you can see the screen on his arm.

Or he just took it off of somebody, you never know. He could have been smart enough to make his own pip-boy. He makes bad ass robots, I'm pretty sure that a pip boy wouldn't be that hard to make.

Would be a wasted opportunity to use Butch as the Mechanist and not something related to the Tunnel Snakes.

Maybe some rip off or ideas taken from The Mechanic (2011) with Jason Statham. Original movie from 1972 w/ Charles Bronson.

You know. If they did make high end robot builds required Robotics Expert. I'd be fine with that. After all you need Science 4 and Armorer to make Jetpacks. But you can still.customize Power Armor without those high perks.

Holy Automatron! Wonder why the Mechanist turned evil though, I do recall he was a pretty decent guy in Fallout 3! :) Wonder if we can build an ant-like robot, to really stick it to him! hahahahaha

Looks cool! I hope I can add an Assaultron to my settlements. It should add +50 defense! LOL

Oh!!! Now that would make more sense!

This looks really good. I don't get the hate with DLC like this, yeah I get it "meh mods cud make it!". Not everybody uses mods though. I think this DLC will do good. Also if I'm correct in the trailer and in the Automatron screenshot the player character is wearing robot armor right? Also it looks like there are more robot enemies added to the game. Should be fun!

Pleasantly surprised at the trailer and it's reception here. Good to see people being positive after we've gotten more info. I'm excited

Indeed, there is both a helmet based on a eyebot and one based on the head of a sentry bot and the armor pieces we seen looks to be based on the shell of a protectron.

After watching the trailer like 10 times, all I can say is holly crap.

Well this should put the doubters to rest as this 10 dollar DLC seems like it is going to have about as much material in it as lets say the pitt from 3. With that I think the price variations is a red hearing as well look it it.

This DLC has 3 new weapons, several new enemies and new locations added to the base game, not only that but is adding new companions and finally variations on enemy robots, cause at least in a few scenes you can see the junker bots fighting along side raiders.

Though I want that construction protectron with sentry bot legs that things just looks epic..... mind is overloading can't put detail and thoughts down on page.

looking at the bots, it seems like the assultron head, means massive death lasers for everyone either on a bot or in your hands.

There was nothing to doubt tbh... when FO4 DLCs were being offered $6 each at MOST.

..........I still cannot believe some people intentionally decided to skip on $29.99 season pass.. when it was clearly announced Far Harbor will be $24.99..

Only way I would understand it is if these are players that never pre-order or prepay for anything principally.

I can totally respect that.

Ok just realized the fire balls being launched by that heavy sentry bot are heavy incinerator projectiles. There also seems to be a few nods to said weapon in some of the bots seen as well.... man I hope that weapon returns.

I honestly would love to see a group of raiders just getting stuck in the middle between Mechanist's robots and your own fighting... I mean seriously, look at some of the designs of these robots and all. If you're just a human with an assault rifle, you're gonna have a bad time being in the middle of that stuff.

They were convinced by the shills who were running around shouting "Season pass is a rip off! Automatron is just a glorified mod! Don't fall for Bethesdas marketing tricks!" Etc

Haha, I remember some players saying that indeed.

However, I believe even they are season pass buyers. They were just complaining season pass & DLC should bring things that other mods cannot provide them. haha

I have seen pretty impressive modded contents, but real thing done by the developer must be something even better.

According to the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mechanist_%28Fallout_4%29, the Mechanist was a villain...

To be fair, they didn't give much information on the first two mods, and they *did* sound like player made mods. If they released that trailer or even described some of the things in the mod, it'd have been an easier sell.

Where the mod shines is the new weapon animations, robot effects. Things when put together would take a team of modders to pull off.

Heck, one could still argue the next mod is going to be lackluster. There are already mods that add everything described but the cages and arena. Which require scripting, and the reason thats not possible is the lack of a construction kit right now. -- So the question is, are they going to pull another rabbit out of the hat and pleasantly surprise us? :bunny:

I still think that this DLC was inspired by robco certified but, in typical bethesda stile they took a concept from a mod and upped it to eleven.

I will never understand why some people think like that, an offical DLC that does something a mod does is great that means the modders have inbuilt tools for that section of the game.

take this one, it is basicly robco certified but up to 11 (yeah repeating my self), now imagine what modders can do now that they have offical support for custom robots.
