Autumnwatch Tower <mad face>

Post » Tue Oct 07, 2014 9:57 pm

Autumnwatch Tower svcks! I just spent one whole hour trying to defeat the Dragon there! In game terms, I got there about 5PM. After also clearing Arcwind Point it was 6AM!

What is bad is that Arcwind Point is just on the other side of the mountains behind it, so inevitably, the Dragon will see the skeletons and Draugr there and start attacking the place. So, if you follow, you get thrown into TWO Dragons AND a lot of Undead fight.

Or... You can wait forever and a day for the Dragon to return.

I really do not mind Dragons that fly about, but it really can be frustrating at times :stare:

From the way you started your sentence, I thought you kept getting merked by the Dragon. I was getting ready to tease you.

:^)

But it is really frustrating whenever I'm fighting a Dragon, but he somehow gets distracted by a Frostbite Spider or Troll a few hundred miles away & flies off into the distance, never to be seen again.

C'mon, Beth. Atleast give me my Arrows back.

So true! And another related tale...

I came upon Alduin "trying" to raise Vuljotnaak near the road. I stood watching and suddenly Alduin has second thoughts, flying away towards Whiterun. Later ( a few game days later), I meet Vuljotnaak on the road! That Alduin is a sneaky cuss!

Look on the bright side, at least it was not three Dragons on one Dragonborn at Arcwind Point. It does happen at that location quite a bit in My Game, and can be triggered by when and how a character enters the Location.

I love that area for the reasons mentioned. Complete chaos. I still remember the first time I had a character chase the Autumnwatch dragon through that pass. What a fight! The location sort of entices you onward until that tower with the beautiful view at the end.

It’s also a great place to get involved in an aerial dragon battle if you have a character who rides dragons.

My most frustrating dragon attacked Winterhold when I was playing a non-mage character. It landed on one of the college towers and I couldn’t get to it. That was annoying!

My worst nemesis isn't some monster but the dreaded :bunny: :bunny: :bunny: they can distract a dragon from great distances!

I always find it rather amusing that the dragon I am attempting to kill, runs off to chase bunnies and wolves, that are not a threat, yet totally ignores the guy poking him with crossbow bolts........ Here I thought dragons were supposed to be intelligent.... Guess not huh?

Which one would they like? I have selection. :D

I don't think any of those three suffer from the bad case of the stupids that the rest do. :) Of course, Parth doesn't attack you, Alduin just wants YOU dead...... Durn is kinda sorta your 'friend'..... well, after you 'kill' him once..... :D it's the rest of those egg farm rejects that seem to suffer from a very bad case of ADD.

"I am going to kill me a dragonborn!!!" Oh, look, a RABBIT!!! KILL!!!!!!!!

Uh huh.

The dragon near Azura's statue is notorious for flying above his mountain peak just to attack some frost trolls or wolves on the other side.

Same here. It would come into town, get hit by Dragonrend, and go land on the college, recover and come back. There was never enough time to run back to the college before it flew back to town. Just out of spell/arrow range on its perch, too.

There are a lot of places in the game where a 'rended dragon will go land out of reach, or at least be able to recover before you get there, usually just at the top of a cliff overlooking your position, beyond the lip.

I think it has to do with the location of their landing marker. You'd think Dragonrend would force them to land right then and there.

It's the only downside to the shout..

This is why I dislike Dragonrend. The worst offender for me was a Dragon outside of Riften. I Dragonrended (can that be a verb?) it and it lands INSIDE of Riften. I did not try to "area change" by entering Riften and lose it totally so it got a free rest :)
