I'm hoping this gives Sega the incentive to go ahead and continue funding/publishing Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines.

And Obsidian's Aliens RPG.

One gal can hope, right? ^_^

I think they were always planning on releasing it, they just didn't want to release it at the same time as AvP so that they wouldn't be competing with each other.

And Obsidian's Aliens RPG.

I've just been watching Aliens on TV. Now I need to play some survivor. Watching the film again makes me appreciate the attention to detail in all the Marine's equipment in the game even more now. They really did their homework.

What do you guys think of Alien? I watched it today(directors cut) and I thought it was really good. Best out of all of them (IMO).

yeah the matchmaking svcks, try browsing for a player match instead of ranked.

I've only seen the first and second alien/s (?) films but I much preferred the second one.

I dunno why we have to prefer one over the other, it's not like the occupy the same space or genres. It's not like choosing between two brands of white bread - Alien is a beef-and-kidney pie and Aliens is a steak sandwhich. One is a pioneering step in science fiction and horror, the other is a pioneering step in convincing studios to put out movies that run as long as possible.

Really dont understand how its got a 5.5 on Gamespot, They reviewed the game very poorly and gave it an under par score, The campaign for all 3 species are good, The graphics are nice to look at as well. The A.I is well done, Especially for the Aliens. The Multiplayer is fun but needs some tweaks, Which will be addressed in future updates, Then there will be DLC, Which will probably add new game modes, maps, ect

Agreed, although as Frostie said, they are both very different and both excellent in their own way. I personally like Aliens the best though and find it just about the most quotable movie ever. I've watched it so many times that I can pretty much recite all the lines before they even say them, and it's still no less entertaining to watch.

Gameinformer gave it a bad review also. Not sure why. I think they actually played the game for 15 minutes, and then was told to say "It svcks."

Got the game yesterday, really like it but the games flawed. You can't browse ranked matches only quick search??? And also the fact that after a game, you can't play with the same people, what is wrong with this.

However the actual gameplay is amazing, and have almost soiled myself on a number of occasions, just kidding

. Before i bought the game, i read a review on Gamespot.com that the game was "mediocre", but i find it tense and actional, though the aliens are pretty difficult to fght against when you stuck with a pistol.

Agreed on both counts. The online lobby system (or lack thereof) could do with some work, but when you're actually in a game it's a lot of fun. I think you can stick with the same group of people in player matches though, so I might play more of those once I have some more skins unlocked from ranked games.

Don't worry people, gamespots reviews are almost always the same as GI's and ive seen it get plenty of good reviews from other sites like IGN gave it a 8.5 and something else gave it a 9

But Gamespot is my vital source of game info, now im beginning to ignore some reviews...

On topic; i think there should have been a couple more types of stealth/trophy kills, i find i've see the same ones twice, although they are well done and play heavily on gore (i like

), i think there should have been more of them.

And does anyone know of dlc???

This is something that made me smile

When you see The Rookie in the dropship in the first Marine cutscene, he looks nice and fresh, not a single mark on him.
When you see him in the last few cutscenes, his nose looks broken and his face is bruised and battered. I'm a svcker for the little things in games.

Wow. I fail to see why this game got such a low score in some game reviews. So far the gameplay is awesome. The execution moves are fun. And even relatively low end rigs can play it. Haven't played online yet but I have watched my brother play but it looks fun.

I tend to find over-hyped games get the best. While this has already been said, its mostly like this:

Big Game, Halo or CoD: "...But these problems are greatly overshadowed by..."

Small Game, AVP or The Saboteur: "...But these problems greatly weigh the game down..."

According to GameInformer, MW2 gets a 9.75, while Dragon Age gets an 8. EIGHT! This is an outrage!

Can't get the win ranked deathmatch achievment because once i get on a game the host leaves!

I find survivor fun but challenging when you put on friendly fire, i standing there with the smart gun and the rank 1 noobs decidde to stand in the way with their pistol.

hehe, i'm in the AVP festive spirit.

Gateway is now my new favorite map, it's like 3 environments (Alien caves, predator jungle, marine base) rolled into one! Awesome!
