Ok, thanks. I guess that I'm going to stick with the old AVP2 then..

Steam? Intrusive? :mellow:

I just dont like Steam. Roots back to the ancient past when HL2 came out and I didn't had an internet connection.

I just read the review on G4TV. Some parts of the review that really made it unreliable:

The story unfurls like a continuation of the god-awful movies, in which Lance Henrikson plays the head of the self-serving and vile Weyland-Yutani corporation.

It has every tired, overused shooter clich? from the late '90s. You wake up alone, with only a useless pistol, while some faceless entity keeps barking orders at you. Worse, you dont even get a name or a voice. Your character is just called "Rookie" and never speaks. He can only carry two other weapons, and his progress is completely linear (Call of Duty anyone?. Humans always did seem extraneous in a war between the two ultimate sci-fi predators, but the developers seem determined to prove how weak and ineffective humans are here.

Whats worse is that Rebellion has actually made the Predator feel wimpy. Although it's hard to imagine, your Predator is weak, goes on the hunt barely equipped, and only gets new weapons as the story dictates. He also has to find energy sources to svck up to power his gear, which is a suspect game mechanic at best.

Really? You could not find a better person to write a review?

I wonder why they took off points for the Marine being silent, because so is EVERY SINGLE FPS CHARACTER RIGHT NOW.

And seriously, I bet they wanted the Predator to be some unstoppable killing machine. Little did they know that Preds prefer an exciting hunt, and would rather start out with just a wrist blade (too easy to blow holes in Marine's chests with a plasma caster).

Exactly. You cant have a Predator who has unlimeted power for his cannon to go around and blow people away. But, its G4 so their reviews only favor the big name companies anyways.

The player character "Nomad" talks quite a lot in Crysis.

This game has a strong emphasise on atmosphere though (The marine campaign, anyway) And a talking protagonist just wouldn't immerse you enough. I'm happy with the grunts and screams of The Rookie. That review is a bit um....dodgy. The marine campaign the worst (really!?) The Alien the best (yeah.....ok...sure it is Mr Reviewer) And The Predator wimpy? cmon, is he trying to top the GI review for dullness?

Oh and, I recommend this big time to you MVS

Oh I have devised a way past my hate of steam. :shifty:

I drive to my littlebro's place and take over his PC to play games that I cant install to my own PCs. He buys all the games I like anyway...

i loved the demo. I relized they did free for all because Team deathmatch is one of their best points and they didnt want us playing it yet.

I just played the pred tutorial to get an idea on how the game will look like. First thing I noticed was that the graphics on DX11 look REALLY good. I've no idea why some of the reviews said the graphics are poor.

Beat the Marine and Predator campaign am now in the process of doing the Alien campaign. Is it me or do not a lot of people play this game.

I've met a lot of poeple who play it. If your playing ranked games then thats your problem, the quick match doesn't actually find you a game 100% of the time. Go player match, you get to choose who you play with then. And you can play survivor with other people.

I checked in player match and didn't see any servers there. How many servers are usually up? Also the Alien campaign was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy. All I had to do was climb up the ceiling and grab the marines most of the time.

Weird; i played today and found several in Species TDM, Infestation, Pred Hunt and Survivor, bear in mind that i am on xbox, as PC probably has less people (not sure).

The alien campagin was easy, and so was the predator campaign, which i found teh most fun because i found ingenious ways to kill marines. The marine campaign on mightmare is; well its a nightmare

. I eventually got bored and went online instead, the tedious of the campaign is not worth the 30 g achievement.

I had beat the Marine campaign on Nightmare. It took a long time though....

I'm really good with the marine now, I just dread playing as them after 3 games in a row. The predator is the only class I need to get to grips with, I can't even disc spam!

So far, it's in Player Match only, IE, no XP gained.

Thank God!! :ahhh: no more cursing hosts when they leave because i stealth kill. Does this update allow you browse ranked lobbies aswell?

This game was annoying me today, i was playing as the predator on species tdm, and they are so underpowered, you have to collect the weapons which is pathetic and i kept getting stealth killed by aliens, including one where i was halfway through a jump! I'm considering trading it in, i got 510G for the game, unless dlc comes out soon, then i might swap it for a more worthwhile game...

I find the Predator to be overpowered, especially when they get the throwable disc....

It would svck if Predators started with all their gear.....

Holy crap is the alien ever an imbalanced beast. I have been playing pretty much all day since I started to feel better and I only seen an alien team lose once. That was with them having only 4 on their team, 6 on preds, and 8 on Humans, but even then they stomped the preds and came in second place. We also barely won that match as the marines. It's a combination of them being so fast its hilarious and the cheap heavy attack spam. Either one needs a good nerf. Heavy attack once only x number of seconds or decrease their speed. They can't have both. Way to powerful a combination. Most games they lead by 40+ points by the end of the round.

I think it's just a case of you playing against good Alien players. I personally like the Alien the least out of the 3 species, I can never get a good killstreak going as an Alien and often feel a bit weak compared to the other two. I find that the Marines win the most win I'm playing, and I play the best as a Marine myself.
