I've been watching this forum for about two weeks now desperatly trying to find some in game more information about this game because i'm alraedy addicted to it however it's not even out yet...

With the latests news being the podcast with Todd i got really exited that he said we'll be able to see some gameplay footage 'soon'. Could someone define 'soon'?

I hope he meant within a month

Nothing is guaranteed for pax east but that would be the soonest to expect more info. Definitely the earliest to expect a trailer.

Something tells me we may see the new trailer before then, but I'm not sure. But I definitely think PAX East will be when we finally see some gameplay.

If not, then sometime in April is the latest we can expect to see gameplay. Unless they skip E3 completely and wait till September.

I expect E3 at the latest. We will see a gameplay trailer in a month at most. It would be lunacy to avoid E3 and all the free press.

Pete did say we're getting our first bit of gameplay footage in a month with an "r" in it's name, and seeing as June doesn't have an "r", we can only expect to see gameplay footage before E3. Sometime in April at the latest.

PAX stands for penny arcade expo. It's a gaming convention where developers show off games coming out and maybe let people play a little bit. Sort of like E3 but not as big.
So, if bethesda is going, and they're going to try and show off skyrim, they're likely not going to have just screen shots, they usually need either a trailer or some game play footage, and even a demo to attract attention.
If they're going, it's pretty guaranteed we'll see some footage

Pete Hines tweeted that they bring all of their upcoming games to Quakecon at august. August doesn't have 'r' in it so I think that we see first gameplay at april rather than september.

And that's exactly why I asked if you were being serious or not.

Did it ever occur to you that he was joking, given the fact that 8 months out of the year have an "r" in them...? That's kind of a broad spectrum. I really don't think you can hold validity to that.

Thanks for that, I forgot I hadn't read today's strip. Although I think it's strange that Penny Arcade hasn't mentioned the Skyrim announcement, that kind of thing blows up the gamer-geek world that they are squarely situated in. Does anyone have an opinion on all this controversy regarding PA and a certain breed of wolf? I'm not even sure that discussion would be allowed here, though.

Nope. Not at all. Pete Hines isn't really one to joke around when it's concerning stuff like that. He can be quite a bit sarcastic from time to time, but he doesn't joke around concerning the game.

Besides that, Todd said that gameplay will be coming very soon, so I imagine it has to be sometime before E3.

Though yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if they waited till E3 as well.

Its not like we have a reason to not believe him. There's no evidence they're going to do it besides what he said, but there isn't any evidence against it either.

Also, the months of lore with an R in them are far less. The ones that do however, happen to be First Seed (March), and Rain's Hand(April). There are a few others, but they're not gonna wait to Hearthfire(September).

Like Rahu X said, he doesn't often joke about the games.

I didn't say that people shouldn't think he was joking around. I said there isn't any reason to not take his word for it, be it a joke or not.
