Do away with the PC version.

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 4:58 pm

With PC users only making up around 10% of Bethesdas customers would it not be more prudent to do away with the PC version of Skyrim all together?

The money and man power spent on porting this game to the PC could be better spent on making the console versions of Skyrim as bug free as possible for launch.

Thoughts?

I think you're trolling.

Does that count as a thought?

Of course it does. However, it's a serious suggestion.

It would be a sad, sad day if TES is no longer on the PC.

you do realize you will be flamed to death for making this topic

also the pc is their roots and they make a significant profit from it not as much as the consoles granted but still a large amount and there's so many other reasons but i can't type them because my whole right hand is bandaged up

p.s it's ported from the pc to the consoles not vice versa

90% without buying online

and it will always exist, PC are probably the most dedicated to the games because of the mods

and 10 percent of a mil is 100,000 it may be small percentages but its big numbers

and its not like porting actually takes that much so they would probably make more money with just porting it than making an entire other game

I game on PC and consoles. You have to realize that 10 percent is still a considerable sum, everybody should get the chance to play this game. But ouch, those PC loyalists are gonna skin you alive for such talk .

thats like asking Bethesda to throw away money so that you can not see two items inside each other. And plus I would go on a killing spree if there was no PC version.

Skyrim is being developed on the Xbox 360, Both the PC and PS3 versions of the game will be ports of that.

As a PS3 owner this bothers me. It took a while for PS3 to start getting included in all the games released on all consoles/platforms. I dont want PC users to deal with the same frustration.

Why think that there is a significant cost involved in developing for the PC in addition to consoles?

I think, in the interest of not having to come back in a short time and write up a bunch of warnings and advisory pms, I'm going to lock this.

I seriously doubt that Bethesda will ever limit the ES series to console only; too many modders do too many wonderful things with the construction/Creation kit. While mods may eventually be able to be used on the consoles, I don't think the construction kit will be. They aren't going to get rid of the pc versions of the games.
