Awesome Console Commands

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 3:27 am

Well i had wanted to ask this question,i even asked this question on twitter but bethesda didn't reply so i'm asking this here

will there be 'those' amazing console commands for pc in fallout 4 (like they were in fallout 3,nv etc). Those console commands made those games more fun to play!! I had used console commands in fallout nv after 2nd play through because i was very much bored of it but after using commands.I played it 3 more times because they were really fun to use (like setting health to 10000000 and using fatman on anyone, village, random pedestrain, enemies etc was awesome    ) .

So please bethesda, will there be"those" awesome console commands for fallout 4 on pc.If not then please enable those commands :D :D

If console commands are enabled then

"I'm ready to [censored] some [censored] up"

Those "awesome console commands" are just the developer tools that are present in most games. They are not meant to be used by the players, unless it's for debugging purposes.

Ironically, most of the people who post how awesome console commands are, they are the first ones complaining of bugs and problems that have ruined their save games through overuse of the commands.

I still remember one thread from someone who'd removed essential status from a load of characters, used the killalll command in a city, quick saved the game then cried about not being able to do any quests because the quest giver was dead and because time had passed all the bodies were cleared up with the cell respawn. And they weren't making manual saves.

Indeed. It's a debugging tool, not a cheat system.

(Though i do love Skyrim's implementation of the Help command :whisper:)

as others have said its for debugging not cheating. as far being in fallout 4 kinda a given since engine is upgraded version of skyrim and that game is being debugged as we speck

Well besides just as a cheat system or debugging tool, it is very useful for testing out mods. Rather than screw around for several hours trying to acquire whatever you just added to the game, just add it to your inventory and see if you actually like it before your save relies on it. Personally I don't really care if they add them to consoles, but I am going to have a good laugh when people come on here complaining that their game is broken.

It is also useful if you get stuck in a wall or want to make minor changes to the game.

Want to play your Courier as the Lone Wanderer gone west?

Use player.rewardxp 8000 to make your first level Courier 10th level.

It is a fraction of what he was in Fallout 3, but he did just get a bullet pulled out of his skull.

I use the command console enough that I often wonder how Xbox and PS players manage to get by. NPCs aren't where they are supposed to be, or you get stuck in the terrain ... the console can fix it in a jiffy. Most of my saves are named saves made in the console rather than the numbered saves from the vanilla save function. Helps me keep track of what I was doing at the time.

I've even used it to simulate things I should be able to do in the game but can't. For example, I had several suits of that standard green combat armor in Fallout 3 but wanted some armor for myself and my followers that would be unique to us so I used the console to remove those armors and replace them with 'winterized' combat armor from operation anchorage, which doesn't appear outside of the simulation to my knowledge. It's just repainted combat armor though, so I didn't really consider it cheating.

The command console is awesome, and fun. :)

This. If you're stuck in the ground all you need to do is type nfc and get out. Having to reload a save is frustrating. Console Commands also give the ability to check stats on the fly (such as base id's, item health, etc).

Indeed, I hope the console makes a return :) - I am not a hardcoe cheater who uses god-mode (I once was though) or something like it (giving yourself HP in the millions or something so that enemies could fire at you for minutes without you really being bothered by it), but I like getting a decent gun and armor at the start (no: not powered armor) and a few better stats etc. :)

greetings LAX

ps: If I replay a Fallout game I do it with a master-character (all stats to max) though (much more fun if I just want to see what's at a certain location on the map (and what would probably kill a level 1 or so character that only has a starting weapon and no armor at all) etc.)

[help "x"] was amazing. Searched whatever armor/spell from whatever mod for the id.

As others have pointed out, console isn't intended as a part of the "playable" game.

It's a dev tool of sorts.

It's handy though for many reasons, but mostly where the vanilla game gets wonky.

As far as cheating, there's that too. For instance, there's always a COC location ID that takes your character to a room with every single item available in the game.

In Fallout 3, the testing hall location was coc testqaitems.

well i kinda don't 'overuse' it.I use it in a smart way(generally) actually i did use fatman some times......but still i kept my fnv much cleaned, because i had known that these commands can even make the game worse.BTW i had also created a small mod for fnv(its amazing yet balanced)

its called ''the real disintegrator'' you can find it on nexusmods

Console commands are great for roleplaying and diversity options.

Insert shameless plug here: Bethesda please release the console editor to PS4/Xbox. Once again it isn't difficult to do. I want to fix the stuff that you guys never get at.
