Awesome spell combos

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 1:56 am

Last night I started using Paralyze with Wall of Flames! It was awesome because I could paralyze an enemy, throw some flames under his rigid body, and let him cook while I repeated the process with his buddies. I was unstoppable!

What about you guys? Anyone find that certain spells just work awesome together?

I've used your same strategy before. Only good one I can think of.

invisibility + a knife.

P.S. Runemaster makes runes about the funnest (if you have silent casting) you can throw them all over dungeons.

Summon Frost Atronach, Frost Rune... and a friendly ice spike to the knee to draw somebody into a very very unpleasant day. My mage is only level 19 right now so not high enough for paralyze and wall spells, but starting to get there.

Dang, that's a good idea! I wonder why I didn't think of that.

Oh, I know! I'm too lazy being a lazy conjurer. But seriously, that's a cool combination.

Dual spam firebolt... stupid mechanic  . Other than that really, there is very, very little tactical procedures to magic. Paralyse and firewall works good ofcourse  , paralyse in itself just makes it too easy.

The wall spells rock, too bad they don't use the augmented perks.

Edit: I enjoy placing a rune, and a line of frost wall between me and the unaware mob, then conjure bow, snipe with a sneak shot, cast frost cloak, pull out my shield and thunderbolt, and keep them bash stunned while my wall, cloak, and bolts take them down. :)

Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, Chainlightening, Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, Chainlightening, thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, Chainlightening

Usually goes like that. I could use some actual spell combos for novelty sake, but this is considerably more effective..sadly.

Speaking of Paralyze....

The funniest thing I've done while playing Skyrim was luring two Frost trolls to the top of a steep hill and hitting them with Paralyze. I must have watched them bounce down that hill and run back up for ten minutes! I was giggling like a schoolgirl the whole time too.

Two Storm Atronach Followers, Storm Call shout activated, Lightning Cloak activated, Dual Chain Lightning with Impact perk. Massive AoE Shock Damage.

Alternating between Lightning Runes and Lightning Wall, would only add to the carnage. However, this would only be feasible with massive cost reduction by using enchanted gear

Another really good combo is a Conjure Dremora Lord and Invisibility... Saved my life a few times.

1. The minion master may benefit from the alteration tree's final spell, mass paralyze and Ethereal shout.

Ethereal shout makes you untargetable and immune to interrupts, more than enough time to walk into the center of things and cast mass paralyze, after which it gets amusing to see your minions beat up hapless foes for the next 26 seconds.

2. Invisible allows the lone mage to sneak amongst the enemies and charge your master spells until it is too late for them. Mass Paralyze is a good spell before following up with (3).

3. Firewall stacks with the other two walls. Paralyze combo will be much more damaging if the elements are rotated.

Storm Atronarch + Storm Atronarch.

Wins me every fight (Dremora Lords are evil and will never be used by my mage).
Dragon Priest usually run out of magicka in about 5sec.

Fire Storm + Two flame atronachs + flame cloak + Marked for death/Fire breath.

I like fire magic.

Though frost would just rip any warrior to shreds.

First time I cast blizzard I was like O_O.

Fury on a group of enemies at a distance, then Bound Bow to finish off the winner :D

Calm + Bound Sword - easy backstabs.

invisibility + a knife.

P.S. Runemaster makes runes about the funnest (if you have silent casting) you can throw them all over dungeons.

Quiet Casting doesn't really help runes much. It only silences the casting noise, not the impact noise. Placing a rune even remotely close to enemies still makes a ton of noise at the impact location and ruins any sneak attack opportunities, which really makes runes much less useful.

My combo? Stick Healing in one hand, any attack spell in the other, then throw on Dragonskin. It's a great way to kill a boss mage. Half of his attacks will recharge my magicka for more healing and attacking.

If I am solo I love the master lightning spell. Nothing like a good thunderstorm. That paired with ethereal shout makes for a pretty nice show.

I remember the first time I cast that master lighting spell on a group of horkers to see what it would do, I just stood there in awe. After it was over I looked to Aranea to see if she had any comments about how cool it was. Alas, I don't think she appreciated it nearly as much as I did. Reload.

Seriously though, that with Ethereal Shout makes me feal pretty satisfied with my hard work to get to that point.

Currently untested, but I'd imagine Runes + Throw Voice could make for some good laughs.
