Awsome Idea for a DLC boss!

Post » Sat Feb 06, 2016 10:14 pm

ok... I have an idea that probably wont be implemented because its too technical, but I can dream!

In a DLC involving Mother ship Zeta, or the Capital wasteland, one of the Bosses/Encounters you have to face is your Character from the 3rd Fallout game.

The Catch - the Boss is Generated off your Save File in fallout 3, based off his choices he has done - your Chars Gender, facial Dynamics, Perks, Choices, and Current Inventory

Heres the Catch - if you Bring Dog Meat to fight him/her, you have to make a Charisma check with Dog meat to keep him by your side.

I like this idea because I really want to face off against my fallout 3 Character Flynn, a Monster of a Man, maxed out in all stats, who also burns and eats people in Power armor.

First, I can't see us going back t the CW. Too big, plus we've already been there. As for Mothership Zeta, again we've been there and done that.

From a technical standpoint, big problem. How would you load your save file? When games have import save options, that's all done at game start, not in the middle of a playthrough. As well, there's going to be a big difference in how data in save files is handled in either game, considering Fallout 3 saves were never made with the intention of importing them..

Also, why would they be hostile?

Finally, why would we need a charisma check with Dogmeat? The Dogmeat in Fallout 4 is not the same Dogmeat in Fallout 3 (Who'd actually be quite old now after 10 years)

well, as I said before... Probably wont be implemented because its too Technical.

How ever, one could ask why in any cross over why two hero's are hostile towards each other.

Answer I have is because you both have a conflicting Goal? Or some kind of Beef like in the Lonesome road DLC?

Maybe it dose not have to be a hostile encounter.

Why would you need the Charisma check with Dog meat? Well, there could be a tone of reasons.

Dog meat from the Commonwealth may be one of the Lone Wanders Dog Meat Puppys from DC, or maybe Dog Meat also takes a liking to the Lone Wander?

If the Idea was developed Im sure there could be some significance story wise... Dog meat your loyal companion being a traitor.

Bethesda has a habit of killing off/disappearing pervious game characters so I doubt the LW would return but if they did want to bring them back then it would be a lot easier to do what they did in dragon age inquisition and simply have you re-design you character.

Since we can't import we would then have to choose their personality (hero, jerk, funny etc.) and what they did in Fallout 3 but that can be done though an in-game conversation (I think they did something like this in witcher 3)

I doubt everyone would be happy with this but it would "work"

It would be interesting to see more F03 throwbacks. A few flaws with the import save plan though:

1. Not eveyone played F03.

2. Not everyone who played F03 still has their character saved on their system (I've been through 2 PCs since I last had F03 installed)

3. Not everyone would have downloaded Broken Steel. Granted, I'm sure most did, but as it wasn't a free update, Bethesda have to assume that for some players, the LW may not be in a position to continue at the end of 3 (is that still a spoiler? it was 6 years ago)

While recreating the entire CW would be unfeasible, it might be interesting to visit a small segment of it. Perhaps Project Purity backfired and irradiated the whole wasteland somehow, rendering it uninhabitable. Someone sends you to retrieve something from Rivet City as a small part of the DLC, and you have explore the irradiated ship, never entering DC, but occasionally glimpsing the radioactive fog shrouded ruins from the deck. Deep in the lower decks, you'd find the LW, on his way to turning feral, unable or unwilling to escape the wasteland.

I might have a go at making that into a mod actually. I kind of became more fond of the idea the more I typed.

Dogs aren't loyal like that. Their pups don't care, especially if they've travelled all the way north to Boston they didn't like the LW.

Mothership Zeta it was under human control by the end and after 10 years it's likely going to have most of the items removed now and be rather pointless going there.

There's no point me fighting the LW, if we met we'd be rather good friends.
