But I said "Not that I'm not"...doesn't the double negation mean that I WILL?
Have to dig out my old grammar book now because I was sure that it works that way.

Let me guess...german? dutch? I read it the way you meant it, but this phrase isn't used in english (although it is correct grammar) and especially the americans tend to violate gramar rules and use double-negation as a "superlative negation"

Westly, Azura looks great now, :goodjob: maybe the statue is a bit too new and beautiful for Morrowind, where Daedra worship was outlawed in the last three millenia. Well at least two bits are missing :)

What I'd like to see are statues of the daedra that have no statue at all in Morrowind (especially Nocturnal, Meridia and Namira ;))

The new azura looks awesome.

Now that i think about it, it should be possible to add a new shrine with a vermina (or whoever else) statue that activates when you click on it, you record a voice and it gives you a quest just like the other statues.

Don't count on me to do it since i can't model, script, or do anything relevant.

Looks fenomenal! Any hope of re-doing other Daedra statues, or even creating new statues (perhaps the Tribunal, with Almalexia/Sotha Sil 'versions' of those statues that are in Vivec. That would be insanely good!)

I log in this morning to find this and it's already on page two in the thread. All I can say is "perfect, perfect, and perfect" downloaded and thank you Westly for this marvelous remake of Azura. :trophy: :ribbon: :goodjob:

Superb. Nice to see Azura looking more like she did in ES2.

As for the double negative. I'd say the usage was perfectly understandable and correct to older UK English speakers, such as my self. Sadly, younger people often either don't realise what they've actually said or misuse them as 'super-negatives.'

It just goes to show that most English as a second language speakers use English better than those who grew up with it. (grin).

Your timing could not have been better. I am just about to start a new game playing a pure mage. This will be a nice new addition to have in-game :)

I visited the Shrine this morning and all I can say is WOW! :celebration: :foodndrink: :celebrate: :goodjob: I is ab[censored]ely stunning. I used the rust red replacer so that it matches the other deadric ruins statues. It look even better than I remembered from the last time I visited her. Great Job as always Westly.

Only the backgrounds are photoshopped (to draw interest to the statues in the pic, rather than any other mods that I may use).
This saves those questions that could arise, such as:

"Oooh, the statue is nice, but what is that texture replacer you are using in the background"?

The statues and Azura are as they appear in game (and if other users testify to this, then all the better).
The second statue pic (in the shrine) is a direct screenshot with only the brightness and contrast altered.
I am not in a current playing cycle, so for the pic of the Azura Creature, I placed her in a neutral area and took the pic.
She looks exactly like she did in the original pic, only the difference is the back ground (which was solid grey in the
original screen shot, thus not very interesting or professional).

If someone gets to the point where they meet Azura for the first time, then I welcome them to post a pic of their meeting :).

It took me a second to work that out. Quite a statement, there. ;) Not sure what Azura would think of it...

No you are right, it is just late here and I did not read your post correctly, and for that I must apologise.
It is better not to use double negatives, though, save for conversation (unless you are going for a bit of literary trickery).
"I will use this either way" would have been a more direct and affirmed statement.

Take Care

(updated link to ElricM in first post)

Teacher: "Double negatives are commonly used to make a positive whereas there is no instance in the English language where a double positive is used to make a negative."
Student: "Yeah, right."

I try to avoid saying "Not that I'm not going to do this ..." because it's all too easy to ... um ... tie myself in knots. :P

I do agree with the "offending" post and look forward to a BB version. However, even without the improved body, it's still a great-looking mod. :)

O.K. , grammar lessons aside, here are a few pics to get the thread on track:

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g235/Wesadam/Extra%20Pics/_A_Mephala2.jpg

I made this in part response to Craigor's request and in part for my desire to have more statues for a few mods of my own.
While the arms might not be so similar to certain depictions of Mephala (with one set of arms raised above the head and one
set below), I think that this achieves what I set out to do, and thus, is a sucess. I still need to tweak the web mesh a bit, as well
as make a few variations for the textures. Once that is done, then I will relase the Mephala statue (probably in this thread so as not to clutter the boards).

A note on the statue (which I will probably have to repeat at the release): The statue's scale is not quite the same as the
other Daedric Prince statues, so if any one planned on making a straight replacer, then they would find the new statue sunk into the floor. If one were to use this to replace the statue used by Mephala in-game, then they would have to re-position the mesh to be raised above ground in the shrine.

EDIT: Just in case any one notices and comments on the size of Mephala's head, the size is completely intentional.
The reason is twofold:

1) In classical sculpture (especially when the sculptures were very large or placed on a high pedestal or niche) the heads were made larger to apear in proportion to a viewer observing the statue from below (as from that perspective the statue appears in proportion).

2) A larger head makes Mephala's body more thin and wraith-like, rather than the more Rubenesque form of Azura.

That is going to be a antastic addition to the game. Everytime I get done playing through the game I end up loading different mods and going again.

Well, as with most things, this became a bit larger mod than I had intended (due to my desire to see things done myself).
I found Mephala's shrine in game to be rather lacking (as it is just an altar with a bowl  ).
So I replaced the small altar with the statue and then moved al of the necessary files to a new
interior (so as to keep the statue as grand as the other Daedra statues, rather than a table top ornament).
Once I had built the interior, I found alot to be wanting as far as the decor (so I had to get creative).
As a base for the statue, I retextured the sixth-house ashpit to reflect the nature of Mephala.
Its hexagonal shape leans well toward a kinship with webbing  .
I used a deep red fog to create a sense of ominous trepidation. Then I lit the room with read accent lights from above
while placing green brown lights below (to counter balance all of the red). A layer of mist is set to caress the
floor to add to the ominous and powerful feel of the Queen of Spiders' place of worship. Four altars are placed in
the main area of the shrine, each with tools, weapons and various accoutrement fitting for a member of the
Morag Tong. Large panels of sheer fabric dress the walls (again carrying the spider motif in their textures).
And as a bonus, two guardian spiders flank the the statue, serving as makeshift avatars for the Goddess.
(they are deadly and offer nothing but a fight should one provoke them, as normally they are very passive
and meant for visual effect). In the entrance hall, smaller wraith spiders skitter in and out of the mist (as they
are made mostly transparent to be part of the mist itself ).

Ideally, I would like the door to Mephala's Shrine to be locked until you finish her quest (which is given by an NPC, so it
woud not be necessary to speak to the shrine at first). Upon completing her quest, then the door would be unlocked
(much like the chargen door after character creation) allowing passage in to her hidden sanctum. I do not yet know
how to implement this (as I can script standalone scripts, but when they depend on other already existing scripts, then I get
nervous :anxious: ). If any one is more brave than I , then I would greatly welcome any help in implementing the
door unlocking script with the Door to the Shrine of Mephala :turtle: .

Well this is all for now. As soon as the door can be worked out, then I will release this to the community.

Take Care

This all looks awesome.......but, I have just one question. Don't flame me too badly for this (as I still haven't made it very far into the MQ)......but where in the game does a creature version of Azura exist? As much time as I've spent messin around in the CS I have never come across Azura in any form.......creature or NPC. Am I missing something?
