Azura-vampire killing

Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 9:35 pm

ok so im stuck on the part of the main quest where you go to the shrine of Azura, i have done the glow dust part and i have killed 3 of the 5 vampires (it took forever) but the last two are super hard. I have heard that vampires are vulnerable to fire so i bought a fire spell that does like 15 fire dmg but im a Warrior so i can only cast it once before im out of "magika" and melee doesnt really work because they hit hard and their weapons are enchanted so i die fast. If anyone has some advice for a warrior please help :)

I haven't played this long either but the best thing I can tell you is to start a new character or don't try that quest until you're at a higher level like 4 or 5 - 6?
But I don't know much yet myself. I keep getting this vampire symdrome when I try to sleep myself. I haven't figured out how to get rid of it or keep from getting it.

Potion of cure disease , mandrake root, or pray at the chapel.

If you are having trouble fighting the vampires you can turn the difficulty slider down, and if it is possible can you post what type of weapons your character uses, there level and majors, so I will be able to better help you.

Try a staff of fire / fireball, look in rindir's staves in the imperial city, if he does not have a fire one, just rest outside for three days or so then go back in and check.
Look in all the stores for scrolls of fire damage while you're there, and search other places for fire enchanted weapons.
I don't know your stats, what level are you? if a higher a level there are other daedric quests you can do that don't require much of a fight.

Also, the thing I do when faced with a challange too tough for a certain character is to turn the difficulty slider down, save then reload.

If you can't cast fire spells well enough, try to find a weapon that has fire damage of the type you use. Make sure you can heal between battles, either by spell or potion.

I usually do Azura's quest as early as possible, so that any advantage I can get is over the weakest possible opponents. Sneaky archers with fire damage poisons can pick off the vampires before being seen if they have some detect life ability, which also helps you tackle them one at a time.

DO NOT GIVE MARTIN AZURA'S STAR!!!

He'll be perfectly happy with any other daedric artifact. Azura's star is the best thing in the game. You'll find out eventually.

Using an enchanted weapon and bringing lots of healing potions along is your best bet for finishing the quest. Or you could turn the difficulty slider down a bit.
