Back to back to back dragon attacks

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 11:28 am

Hi! I just found these forums and am having a big issue..

After finihing another round of iron daggers and bringing my smithing up to 85 in riverwood I went to the trader to sell them. As soon as I stopped smithing an elder dragon attacked! This wasn't to bad until afterward I noticed the smith Alvie had died. I freaked out and reloaded last save(losing a bunch of dungeon clears) I imediately went back to riverwood and sure enough elder dragon attacking...

I stood way outside the town and fired ice spikes at it till it came for m and I was able to solo it with no damage to npc's. It dies and I run back into riverwood to resynth all those daggers again when another dragon attacks..

This one wasn't as easy because I burned alot of healing and magica potions on the last one... I spammed arrows and magic until it finally died. I walk into town yet a third time, synth the daggers, and go to riverwood trader to sell after enchanting them at the inn.

As I walk out of the trader's shop another damn dragon attacks...

On my fourth dragon I finally died. When I reloaded I went to whiterun and did some quests. I eventually went bak to riverwood and of course elder dragon is circling...

It seems like no matter how many I kill skyrim gods have it in for Alvor because he's always the first one dead and I don't want to cotinue the game with dead shop npc's...

How do I fix this problem?!? What's the best way to pull dragons away from the town before they kill npc's? I just want my quiet riverwood back..

Use Adrianne in Whiterun, then her husband in the shop, then Eorlund, 3x supply of iron and leather strips.

More guards to fight dragons too.

Would paralyze poison work? Use a bow and get a good shot it with it if it does.

I collect iron ingots from all of them, I just synth them in riverwood because I've invested in the trader shop. I need to get past this dragon loop glitch.

How many dragons should be attacking in a row? Killing a couple isn't as much as an issue as making more stop showing up

Go to a different blacksmith. I hate it when NPC dies but he isn't that important.

I've never seen that before, but I'd like to know what you're doing to attract so much dragon attention. I would be in Skyrim heaven to fight so many dragons.

So riverwood will be forever a dragon headquarters and I just don't get that town in my game? That doesn't seem right. What controls the frequency of dragon attacks?

I guess using riverwood as my hub instead of whiterun is frowned upon. It was cool at first but having a ghost town svcks

Just had the same issue. I killed a dragon in riverwood, took its bones, and sold them at the trader. As soon as I went back outside another dragon instantly spawned... so I killed him and took his bones and sold them for a stupidly small amount at the traders (he ran out of money). Guess what happened as soon as I left his store?

I'm starting a new game tonight.

Maybe the number of dragons is commensurate with the number of daggers you are making? The game thinks you've played a lot longer to make so many daggers? I don't know. That's tongue in cheek, but I haven't read that anyone else has had such a problem, and I am with all the others that sggest you at least temporarily change your location away from there for a while. See if that breaks the cycle.

I was thinking somthing along those lines too. I wonder if the number of dragons that attack you is affected by time played. Until now I've only had one random dragon attack. I've found dragons throughout my adventure but only been attacked randomly by one.

Maybe the game thinks I should catch up by sending them back to back. Guess I'm gunna go farm giants for their stinky finger toes. Need to start trying to level alchemy.

open console with the ~ button (the key to the lleft of tghe "1" key) and clcik on the dead guy and number will appear,
type "resurrect" (without quotes) and he will be alive again and have all his items or you could rob him then resurrect him and
sell him the stuff back.

I've always used Adrianne, not only because she's near the entrance but because I have a house next door full of crafting stuff.

Looks like it's not just me, who noticed Riverwood getting attacked by a dragon WAY more often than anywhere else.

No it's not cheating, as what happends if they did and you need them for a future mission but the one your on dosen't
require them to survive, bringing them back would be the same as starting for the last save point and continuing on from there.

Thats why PC is always goning to be better, until Microsloth/Sony decide to allow modding of there console system.
But that will never happen also the next gen consoles are still 3 yrs away so by then PC will be 10 times faster and
consoles will still behind.

PS. I do own a PS3 and I have several games but there all Asssassins Creed: Series/Infamous 1+2 style of games, as i
could never get the hang of FPS games with console controls. I have Mortal Kombat 9 on it's way.

That's a danger of abusing the levelling systemthrough smithing. You level up enough for stronger opponents to start appearing before you're actually ready for them.
